Happy New Year!

“O, what a tangled web we weave,
When first we practice to deceive!”

“But when we’ve practised quite a while
How vastly we improve our style!”

“Evidence”: The cultural differences between the FBI and the CIA

“The competing messages, according to officials in attendance, also reflect cultural differences between the FBI and the CIA. The bureau, true to its law enforcement roots, wants facts and tangible evidence to prove something beyond all reasonable doubt. The CIA is more comfortable drawing inferences from behavior.”

The Washington Post

December 31 2016 — Well, it has been a long and sad year. So, in the long tradition of the UK Secret Service ‘End-of-the-Year party’, allow me tell an old – but perhaps timely – joke. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

“We categorically disagree with any of the groundless allegations or charges against Russia. These actions by the current administration in Washington are unfortunately a manifestation of an unpredictable and you could even say aggressive policy.”

Czech Republic: “Centre Against Terrorism and Hybrid Threats” set up to fight Fake News

“The key goal of Russian propaganda in the Czech Republic is to sow doubts into the minds of the people that democracy is the best system to organise a country, to build negative images of the European Union and Nato, and [to] discourage people from participation in the democratic processes.”

Tomáš Prouza — Czech government’s state secretary for European affairs

The Security Information Service (BIS) (Czech: Bezpečnostní informační služba), is the primary domestic national intelligence agency of the Czech Republic. The Latin motto “Audi, vide, tace”, reminds people that an intelligence service member has to be a good listener, keen observer, and must keep silent .

The Czech government fears Russian interference in the upcoming general election. A new specialized unit — The Centre Against Terrorism and Hybrid Threats  — will report on ‘Fake News’. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

Declassified Report on Snowden Disclosures

“It is Snowden who decided, at great risk, to honor his oath to defend the Constitution against ALL enemies foreign and domestic – and NOT the timid politicians whose cowardice Snowden exposed.  Naïve souls still inclined to give credence to congressional “overseers” (“overlookers” is a better word) and to a constitutional-lawyer-in-chief who lies outright about his sweeping power to pardon, are now asked to believe that Snowden was/is a Russian spy.  At long last, have you no sense of decency?”

Former CIA Analyst Ray McGovern

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I wanted to take the time to send you my most sincere Christmas wishes. I hope you have a beautiful holiday.

“I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.”

Mandela visiting Megrahi — aka ‘The’Lockerbie bomber’ — in prison. Many thanks to my friend John Ashston who took the picture.

Then the righteous will answer him, saying, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?”

And the King will answer them, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”

Courier X: A puzzle with too many pieces

Courier X might not be “the film the CIA tried to stop,” as its promotional materials claim, but the many-stranded conspiracy drama could’ve been a contender.”
