“If there is no such thing as ‘the Truth’ about the past, and therefore, a fortify, if there is no obligation to seek such truth, we are left only with clashing opinions. (…) But, if there is such a thing as the ‘Truth’ about the past, and if one party claims to possess it, yet without sufficient grounds, the possibility remains of questioning that claim and showing it to be mistaken or inadequate.”

Miroslav Volf — The End of Memory: Remembering Rightly in a Violent World

The Truth is a dangerous thing. The Quest for the truth has driven many good souls to madness, and killed more men than one can possibly count.

The Quest for Truth is a lonely, exhausting and humiliating process. And yet I regard this quest as a sacred duty. If life is worth living, Truth must be one of its raisons d’être.

Collect the facts carefully and analyse them logically. Let your work be known. Engage with others, whether or not they agree with your findings.

And, most importantly, expect nothing in return. Truth is its own reward. Truth is the daughter of Time, not Authority.

November 2 2018

When I suggested in July 2018 that there was a link between the John Reidy’s complaint to the CIA’s internal watchdog and the CIA debacles in both Iran and China  — More than two dozens CIA agents have been executed — very few people paid attention and even less believed it.

John Reidy had discovered that the communication system used by CIA assets in countries such Iran and China was not secured.

I concluded that the CIA had botched the covert communication (COVCOM) system used to interact with its sources, and this weak COVCOM, not a double agent, was responsible for the CIA debacle in China.

On November 2 2018, Zach Dorfman and Jenna McLaughlin reported that this was indeed the case.

Their investigation, published by Yahoo News, was based on conversations with eleven former U.S. intelligence and government officials directly familiar with the case.

I believe that this story is the textbook example of a major intelligence disaster that could have been easily avoided if the “system” had listened to a whistleblower.

January 12 2019

On November 2 2017, I suggested that Belgian mercenary Jan Van Risseghem may be responsible for the death of Dag Hammarskjold. The story was based on the testimony of a very credible source (Pierre Coppens) who had accepted to talk to Intel Today.

On January 12 2019, The Guardian reported that Jan van Risseghem was indeed the person responsible for the death of Dag Hammarskjold and his crew.

Amazingly, The Guardian forgot to tell its readers that the story had been published on this blog more than a year before. Even the pictures of Jan van Risseghem published by The Guardian were initially published on this blog.

Intel Today readers were not amused, and a few did not hesitate to tell The Guardian how they felt about this affair.

But not only had the “Guardian story” been stolen from this blog, the authors — Emma Graham-Harrison, Andreas Rocksen and Mads Brügger —  failed to understand a key point.

As I wrote on the day the story was posted by The Guardian,

“Journalists are still missing the importance of one critical aspect of this story: the role of CRYPTO AG.” [Intel Today – Jan 12 2019]

And this issue will re-surface on February 11 2020. This time, the world will be in shock!

May 20 2019

I have long argued that the CIA was “hiding” the identity of a female officer recently honoured by a star on the Memorial Wall.

In September 2016, Abigail Jones published a piece in Newsweek titled “Women of the CIA.” Jones wrote: “The Memorial Wall, in the lobby of the CIA in McLean, Virginia, has 117 stars, honoring the agency officers who’ve died in the field. Eleven represent women.”

I have written a series of post about the CIA women honoured with a star on the agency’s Memorial Wall. And, to the best of my knowledge, only 10 were known to have been “killed in the line of duty.”

On March 22 2019, the CIA confirmed that 11 stars represent women. Then, on May 20 2019, the Washington Post revealed the name of the mysterious star. And, as I suspected, her story is rather unusual.

The daughter of Egyptian immigrants, Ranya Abdelsayed (DOB 04/28/1979) joined the CIA in 2006. On August 28 2013, while serving in Afghanistan, she committed suicide.

November 29  2019

Since 2016, I have argued that Oussama Atar, a Belgian of Moroccan descent, was almost certainly the mastermind of the Paris and Brussels attacks.

On November 29 2019, French anti-terror prosecutors formally indicted 20 suspects. Oussama Atar is accused of being the mastermind of both attacks. This point is now settled. This is not however the end of the story. Not by a long shot…

Atar was allegedly killed in Syria during a airstrike on November 17 2017. Nevertheless, the questions that I have raised remain unanswered to this day.

If it was not for the help of Belgian politicians and dubious organizations, Oussama Atar would still be in Iraqi prison. The fingerprints of the Deep State are all over this case.

This Affair should be investigated. But so far, no one seems to care. Why on earth not?

February 11 2020

On December 29 2007, I argued that Crypto AG had rigged the equipment used by diplomats around the world allowing US Intelligence Agencies to decode their messages in real-time.

The piece (The NSA-Crypto AG Sting — For years US eavesdroppers could read encrypted messages without the least difficulty) is still available online.

On February 11 2020, I was finally vindicated when Swiss broadcasting company SRF, German public broadcaster ZDF and the Washington Post confirmed most details of the story after gaining access to several  classified, comprehensive CIA history documents summarizing Operations “Thesaurus” and  “Rubicon”.

How should I feel today? Delighted to have been finally vindicated?

Or depressed that my country dismissed my findings as a conspiracy theory at great cost to its reputation and its people?

Anton Chekhov once wrote: “What a fine weather today! Can’t choose whether to drink tea or to hang myself.” I sure can relate to that feeling…

March 01 2020

On July 26 2007, I published a piece regarding suspicious edits made to some articles on Wikipedia. I came to the conclusion that Western Intelligence Agencies were editing sensitive information on Wikipedia.

Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales and Wikipedia administrators reacted angrily to the story. “This article is just wild speculative nonsense,” Jimmy Wales wrote.

On August 17 2007, I published a second story in which I listed the CIA edits to Wikipedia pages.

On March 1st 2020, the Swiss Propaganda Research Group (SPR) — an independent nonprofit research group investigating geopolitical propaganda in Swiss and international media — published a story titled: “Wikipedia: A Disinformation Operation?

The story makes reference to my origin article as well as three additional following pieces, including my recent comment regarding the 133,612 edits made in the name of “Philip Cross” in recent years.

Today, and for the future, the “Authority” of Jimmy Whales  and his insults — He never apologized to me — matter very little. Truth is indeed the daughter of time!

March 11 2020

For years, I have argued that the Lockerbie verdict is a ‘Grand Monument to Human Stupidity’.

On This Day — Megrahi, Convicted in 1988 Lockerbie Bombing, Dies in Tripoli (May 20 2012)

In return, I have suffered many vicious attacks. That is of course hardly surprising. As Simone Weil wrote: “The only way into truth is through one’s own annihilation; through dwelling a long time in a state of extreme and total humiliation.”

Stay calm, and keep working…

In May 2018, Richard Marquise — the former FBI agent who led the US investigation — wrote that my work on Lockerbie was a “total fiction.”

In December 2018, Mark Zaid — the person who rose to fame recently as the lawyer of the CIA ‘whistleblower’ whose complaint started the impeachment against Trump — called me a conspiracy theorist.

Marquise and Zaid appear to believe that they have Authority over the Truth. Rarely a wise argument…

On March 11 2020, the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission [SCCRC] announced its decision to refer the Lockerbie Case back to the High Court. Why?

According to the SCCRC, “No reasonable trial court, relying on the evidence led at trial, could have held the case … was proved beyond reasonable doubt.”

So, how should I feel? It is true that the comments of these gentlemen were quite disturbing and perhaps even annoying. But today, I only feel pity for these men.

December 8 2020

On October 3 2017, I posted a story titled : US Spies & the Havana Syndrome. Today, we can probably agree that it was an important story.

Firstly, I coined the expression “Havana syndrome” which is now widely used in the media and by the medical community.

Secondly, I was also the first person to suggest that the noise “heard” by the victims could have been in fact an illusion caused by the exposure of the acoustic nerve to microwave — GSM like — radiations.

Thirdly, I predicted a major cover-up because “the truth about a microwave attack would sent a wave of panic in the Telecom sector.”

Over the least three years, we have been asked to accept pseudo theories, some serious but irrelevant (pesticides) and others relevant but hardly serious (mass hysteria).

On December 5 2020, the National Academies of Sciences report was finally released.

And lo and behold, the committee has concluded that microwave exposure is the most plausible mechanism in explaining the Havana Syndrome.

“Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.”
