Two Years Ago — The Trump Dossier : Raw Intelligence or Clever Fabrication? — POLL [UPDATE — Chris Steele Gets Cold Feet]

“I think it was disgraceful – disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that turned out to be so false and fake out. I think it’s a disgrace… and that’s something that Nazi Germany would have done and did do.”

US President-Elect Donald Trump

“When spies get angry, they call reporters and arrange discreet chats in parking garages. The last president who entered the Oval Office with this much dislike and distrust of the IC was Richard Nixon—and we know how that worked out for him.”

John R. Schindler — Former NSA and professor of national security affairs at the U.S. Naval War College

“I can tell you right now Brennan is an asshole. I have known all these people for years. Clapper is — sort of — a better guy but not a rocket scientist. The NSA guys are fucking morons. You know the trouble with all of those guys is that the only way they are going to make it to a board, or two, and get hired (…) to deliver some fat cat contracts is if Hillary stayed in.”

Seymour Hersh [Phone interview]

“In these strange and troubling times, it is hard to speak unpalatable truths to power, but I believe we all still have a duty to do so.”

Christopher Steele — Email to Vanity Fair (October 2018)

January 14 2017 — The ‘Trump dossier’ consists of a series of unsigned memos that appear to have been written between June and December 2016. The dossier contains lurid and mostly hard-to-prove allegations.

UPDATE (March 6 2019) — It has been two years since the so-called Steele dossier was published by BuzzFeed News for public consumption. INTEL TODAY would like to know what you think.

Is the Steele dossier a genuine work of intelligence or a piece of disinformation?

On This Day — Operation Flavius (Death on the Rock) [March 6 1988]

“For the government to claim the right to kill British people, based on highly unreliable secret intelligence and a secret declaration of legality, is so shocking I find it difficult to believe it is happening even as I type the words. Are we so cowed as to accept this?”

Craig Murray — Former UK Embassador

On March 6 1988, three unarmed members of the IRA were shot dead on the territory of Gibraltar by British Special Air Service (SAS) troops. The killings of Sean Savage, Daniel McCann, and Mairéad Farrell sparked two weeks of increasingly macabre happenings in the trio’s native Belfast. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

POLINT — The End of Donald Trump? [Poll — March 2019]

“Only two presidents in US history have been impeached – Andrew Johnson in 1867 and Bill Clinton in 1998, with both motions having subsequently been voted down in subsequent Senate votes. With a current Republican majority in the Senate, few political commentators expect a successful impeachment of Donald Trump at any stage.”

Malachy Caldwell — Odds Digest (January 21 2019)

“But I will tell you a secret. The DGSE produced a note dated December 2015. The title of the note is: US Presidential Election : Victory of Mr Trump. What are the consequences? ”

Bernard Bajolet — Director General for External Security (DGSE)

“Prediction is very difficult, especially about the future. ”

Niels Bohr – Physics Nobel Prize 1922

January 23 2019 — With a new Congress in office and the Mueller inquiry closing in, the talks of impeachment are in the air. Donald Trump’s days as POTUS may be numbered. Intel Today would like to know what you think? Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading

Belgium – Huawei Opens Europe Cybersecurity Transparency Centre in Brussels (March 5 2019)

“Trust needs to be based on facts, facts must be verifiable, and verification must be based on common standards. We believe that this is an effective model to build trust for the digital era.”

Ken Hu — Huawei’s Deputy Chairman (March 5 2019)

“Given the massive cybersecurity and national security risks, the only responsible decision is for Berlin to follow the Australian, New Zealand, and U.S. lead and ban Chinese providers from the German 5G network. In doing so, Europe’s strongest economy would send a crucial signal to the rest of the European Union members that are grappling with the same decision.”

Thorsten Benner — Director of the Global Public Policy Institute in Berlin (December 9 2018)

“Perhaps, the most puzzling part of the [Belgian Intelligence Services] report is what it does not mention. Although most countries are extremely concerned about China investments in their Telecom infrastructure, the Belgian report is silent on this issue. Why, on earth, why?”

Intel Today (November 30 2018)

[Brussels, Belgium, 5 March 2019] Today, Huawei opened their Cyber Security Transparency Centre in Brussels, with over 200 representatives from regulators, telecom carriers, enterprises, and the media attending the event. BBC Propaganda War in Full Swing over Syria Chemical Attacks

“The BBC is and has long been the most refined propaganda service in the world.”

John Pilger

“There is not a single person in all of Douma who believes that this attack ever happened. In fact no one here understands why everyone keeps on asking this question. And why everyone keeps going to the hospital to ask the same thing over and over. They know it is a false story!”

Carla Ortiz — Interview with Intel Today (May 2018)

On March 1 2019, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) released a short report regarding its Facts Finding Mission in Douma (Ghouta), Syria. The BBC lost no time to lie and distort the report. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

Two Years Ago — Inside the Intrigue of Russia’s Cyberattacks

“Looks like Sergey [Mikhailov] and Ruslan [Ruslan Stoyanov] were looking for various “scapegoats” who were easy to track down and who had a lot of criminal evidence collected against them, and then reported them to iDefence through Kimberly [Zenz]. This was done so that iDefence could get some publicity for themselves by turning this into a global news story. Then the matter was reported by US intelligence to Russia, and then got on Sergey’s desk who made a big deal out of it and then solved the case brilliantly gaining favors with his bosses. iDefence at the same time was getting huge grants to fight russian cyberthreats.”

 Russian businessman Pavel Vrublevsky

Former FSB Colonel Sergey Mikhailov

March 4 2017 — On December 4 2016, the Federal Security Service (FSB) arrested Ruslan Stoyanov, the former head of Kaspersky Lab’s Computer Incident Investigation Department. On the same day, they also arrested  three FSB officers: Colonel Sergey Mikhailov, his colleague Major Dmitry Dokuchaev, both senior officers of the 2nd Operational Management of FSB Information Security Center, as well as Georgy Fomchenkov. The four men are detained on charges of high treason (Art. 275 of the Russian Criminal Code). Here is their story. Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading

Remembering SISMI General Nicola Calipari (June 23, 1953 – March 4, 2005)

“Out of the 30 cars that came to the blocking position, why was this the only car fired upon that night?”

Nicola Calipari (June 23, 1953 – March 4, 2005) was an Italian major-general and SISMI military intelligence officer. Calipari was killed by American soldiers while escorting a recently released Italian hostage, journalist Giuliana Sgrena, to Baghdad International Airport. On This Day — The Skripals Drama Begins (March 4 2018)

“This is a carefully constructed drama as part of the propaganda campaign that has been building now for several years in order to justify the actions of NATO [the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation], Britain the United States, towards Russia. That’s a fact. The whole role of Porton Down has been integral to the Cold War apparatus of this.”

“And this is so dangerous, with Russia being effectively pushed into a corner with these accusations, it’s part of a propaganda campaign. I can tell you that, I’m a journalist who has spent almost all my career working in the mainstream [media] in Britain. This is a propaganda campaign promoted specifically in the media and in the Government.”

Journalist John Pilger

March 4 2019 — No one who has looked into the case in any detail can possibly be satisfied that the account given by the UK Government and The Metropolitan Police is correct. The narrative put out by the Metropolitan Police is not simply questionable, it is plain impossible. I believe that this affair is a carefully constructed drama to push Russia in a corner and justify Western foreign policies in various places such as Ukraine, Iran and Syria. US Whistleblowers 2019 — Test Your Spy Knowledge With Our Quiz!

“It is Snowden who decided, at great risk, to honor his oath to defend the Constitution against ALL enemies foreign and domestic – and NOT the timid politicians whose cowardice Snowden exposed.  Naïve souls still inclined to give credence to congressional “overseers” (“overlookers” is a better word) and to a constitutional-lawyer-in-chief who lies outright about his sweeping power to pardon, are now asked to believe that Snowden was/is a Russian spy.  At long last, have you no sense of decency?”
