On This Day –CIA Launches Project MK-ULTRA (April 13, 1953)

“The CIA’s Office of Scientific Intelligence organized the project, code-named Project MKUltra, in coordination with the U.S. Army Biological Warfare Laboratories. In some cases, academic researchers were funded through grants funneled to them from CIA front organizations while remaining unaware that the CIA sought to use their work for its own purposes. In other instances, however, top officials at these institutions knew about the CIA’s role.”

Andrew Glass — Politico (April 13, 2019)

On April 13 1953, CIA Director Allen Dulles ordered the agency to develop mind-controlling drugs to be deployed against members of the Soviet bloc. The ultra-secret program was purportedly launched in response to Soviet, Chinese, and North Korean use of mind control techniques on U.S. prisoners of war during the Korean War. Peter Ford — Former British Ambassador to Syria

April 11 2017 — Former British Ambassador to Syria Peter Ford says those calling for intervention in Syria are likes “dogs returning to their own vomit”. Havana Syndrome — Was it a Neuro-Weapon? – Mechanistic Bases for Examining Effects of Acoustic and Electromagnetic Energy Exposures by Dr Carey D. Balaban (University of Pittsburgh)

“We’re not saying it’s not an injury to the brain. It may be. We do know, for sure, that it’s an injury to the ear and that the brain is affected. (…) These tests that we did cannot be faked.”

Dr. Michael E. Hoffer — Lead author of the report

“We have measurable, quantifiable evidence that something really did happen to the patients. It’s not just hysteria.”

Dr. Carey Balaban

Dr Carey D. Balaban (University of Pittsburgh)

On September 7 2018, SMA (US Department of Defense Strategic Multilayer Assessment) hosted a speaker session presented by Dr. Carey Balaban (University of Pittsburgh), Dr. Diane DiEuliis (National Defense University), Dr. James Giordano (Georgetown University), and Dr. Michael Hoffer (University of Miami) as a part of its SMA General Speaker Series.

In part I of this series, I presented the conclusions of Dr Hoffer in a short documentary using both his PowerPoint slides and his presentation of these slides during the teleconference. In part II, you heard the conclusions of Dr. James Giordano (Georgetown University).

In this post, you will learn why Dr Carey D. Balaban (University of Pittsburgh) believes that the diplomats have been attacked by a neuro-weapon. I hope that this series will make it clear that, whatever the cause,  these diplomats have suffered real injuries. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

Two Years Ago — The Washington Post Rewrites History [Lockerbie]

“President Ronald Reagan didn’t seek congressional approval when he bombed Libya in retaliation for a bombing of a Pan Am flight over Lockerbie, Scotland.”

Amber Phillips — Washington Post (April 7 2017)

“The result is post-truth discourse. In our new normal, experts are dismissed, alternative facts are (sometimes flagrantly) offered, and public figures can offer opinions on pretty much anything. And thanks to social media, pretty much anyone can be a public figure. In much public discourse, identity outranks arguments, and we are seeing either a lack of interest in evidence, or worse, an erosion of trust in the fundamental norms around people’s accountability for the things we say.”

Nick Enfield — The Guardian (November 16 2017)

On the 14th of April 1986, Ronald Reagan ordered an air raid on Libya.

April 11 2017In a piece published by the Washington Post on April 7 2017, Amber Phillips writes that President Ronald Reagan’s 1986 bombing raid on Tripoli and Benghazi was retaliation for the 1988 attack on Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie. This is — of course — NONSENSE. Welcome to the post-truth world!

Eventually, the NYT wrote some kind of an erratum: “This report originally incorrectly stated which international bombing President Reagan’s 1986 bombing of Libya was in retaliation for.” Thank you. One should always be grateful for the little things.

But this ‘Freudian slip’ is nevertheless interesting. Let us take a quick look back at the official US disinformation program against Libya in 1986. There is no doubt that this affair should have been a major scandal if it had not been eclipsed by a bigger one a few days later: the Iran-Contra conspiracy. On This Day — Target Zhou Enlai : The Bombing of the Kashmir Princess (April 11 1955)

“As I told the Prime Minister the last time, he vastly overestimates the competence of the CIA.”

Henri Kissinger — Answer to Zhou Enlai about the US involvement in the bombing of the Kashmir Princess

“Evidence now suggests that Zhou knew of the plot beforehand and secretly changed his travel plans, though he did not stop a decoy delegation of lesser cadres from taking his place.”

Professor Steve Tsang of Oxford University — The China Quarterly (September 1994)

On April 11 1955, the Kashmir Princess — a chartered Lockheed L-749A Constellation aircraft owned by Air India — was damaged in mid-air by a bomb explosion. The plane crashed into the South China Sea while en route from Hong Kong to Jakarta, Indonesia. Sixteen of those on board were killed, while three survived. The target of the assassination was the Chinese Premier, Zhou Enlai. Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading

On This Day — The Good Friday Agreement (April 10 1998)

“Compromise is when people come together and say, ‘listen, this is the dilemma, this is the difficulty, this is what is unsaleable to my people’ and let us try and find a way out.”

Bertie Ahern

“The Good Friday Agreement is a work of genius that’s applicable if you care at all about preserving democracy.”

Bill Clinton

“In Northern Ireland, these were ordinary men and women but after 700 days of failure, they joined in one day of success and they changed the course of history.”

Former US Senator George Mitchell

Norway & Russia — Former Border Inspector Behind Bars in Moscow on Charges of Espionage [UPDATE IX]

“Frode must come home, and Norwegian authorities must do what they can to get him out. It is not a good signal when such a positive and distinguished bridge-builder like Frode is arrested, it is not a good sign.”

Kirkenes town Mayor Rune Rafaelsen

“Once again we see the effects of big politics hitting us here locally, and we demand an end to that!”

Father Torbjørn Brox Webber

“I would not characterise the case as a global attack on bilateral relations. We have a relationship with Norway which develops in different areas. These kind of things happen, and it is uncomfortable, [but] our national legislation provides for adequate measures.”

Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (December 28 2017)

Frode Berg, a 62 retired border inspector, was arrested by Russian security service agents in downtown Moscow on December 5th 2017. He is jailed  in isolation at the high-security Lefortovo prison.

Berg was allegedly caught receiving classified material about the Russian Navy that he is accused of planning to hand over to Norwegian and U.S. intelligence agencies. Berg claims that he was duped into working for Norway’s national intelligence agency.

On October 30 2018, the Moscow City Court has upheld the expanded arrest until December 5 2018. On Friday (November 30 2018), the court decided to prolong his arrest for another two months. On January 30 2019, the Moscow City Court has extended Berg’s detention until April 5 2019. Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading

Hollywood — Gal Gadot to Play Actress and Inventor Hedy Lamarr (UPDATE — Confirmed?)

“Any girl can be glamorous. All you have to do is stand still and look stupid.”

“American men, as a group, seem to be interested in only two things, money and breasts. It seems a very narrow outlook.”

“If you use your imagination, you can look at any actress and see her nude… I hope to make you use your imagination.”

Hedy Lamarr

“We began talking about the war, which, in the late summer of 1940, was looking most extremely black. Hedy said that she did not feel very comfortable, sitting there in Hollywood and making lots of money when things were in such a state. She said that she knew a good deal about munitions and various secret weapons … and that she was thinking seriously of quitting MGM and going to Washington, DC, to offer her services to the newly established Inventors’ Council.”

George Antheil — Composer, pianist and inventor

A 1940s shot of Lamarr, ‘the most beautiful woman in the world’

August 14 2018 — According to Hollywood rumors, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is nearing a deal to topline a Showtime limited series from Sarah Treem, co-creator of The Affair. The series would chronicle the life of Hedy Lamarr — Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler (November 9, 1914 – January 19, 2000) — the Austrian-born actress who starred in Ecstasy, Samson and Delilah and other films. Lamarr was also an inventor who patented, among other things, a frequency-hopping system during World War II. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_Today Continue reading

Two Years Ago — Former CIA Analyst Ray McGovern Debunks The Alleged Syria Chemical Attack

“A source told me that Pompeo had personally briefed Trump on April 6 about the CIA’s belief that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was likely not responsible for the lethal poison-gas incident in northern Syria two days earlier — and thus Pompeo was excluded from the larger meeting as Trump reached a contrary decision.”

Belgium — World Top Arms Dealer Sentenced to 4 Years. Not Jailed for Now. [UPDATE : Court of Cassation Confirms 4 years Sentence]

“The reason I’ll be released is the same reason you think I’ll be convicted. I do rub shoulders with some of the most vile, sadistic men calling themselves leaders today. But some of these men are the enemies of your enemies. And while the biggest arms dealer in the world is your boss – the President of the United States, who ships more merchandise in a day than I do in a year – sometimes it’s embarrassing to have his fingerprints on the guns. Sometimes he needs a freelancer like me to supply forces he can’t be seen supplying. So. You call me evil, but unfortunately for you, I’m a necessary evil.”

Yuri Orlov (Nicolas Cage) — Lord of War (2005)

Brussels (October 22 2018) — Last week, Jacques Monsieur, one of the most notorious arms dealer in the world, was  given a tougher sentence on appeal than he had received in his original trial. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading
