Posted on May 26, 2022 by L

CIA Director Bill Burns (May 23 2022)

The Memorial Wall is a memorial at the Central Intelligence Agency headquarters in Langley, Virginia. It honors CIA employees who died in the line of service. There are 139 stars carved into the white Alabama marble wall.

May 26 2022 — On May 23 2022, the Central Intelligence Agency held its annual memorial ceremony to pay tribute to the men and women of the CIA who have died in the line of duty. Two stars were added to the Memorial Wall this year.

The Memorial Wall now has 139 stars. Before 9/11, the number of stars per year was 78/54 = 1.4. After 9/11, the rate greatly increased. Actually it doubled to 61/21 = 2.9. What can possibly explain this inflation? Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY

The Great Wave off Kanagawa [神奈川沖浪裏, Kanagawa-oki Nami Ura] — Katsushika Hokusai (1831)

May 15 2021 — A young man asked if I could offer a few advises as to how one should investigate a complex story. Initially, I thought the idea a bit strange and I was inclined to ignore the letter. After all, there are good reasons why I have chosen to turn down an offer to teach at Yale University. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY

Posted on May 10, 2022 by L

“I WOULD LIKE TO CALL THE ATTENTION OF THE JAMAICAN PRESS AND PEOPLE TO THE FACT THAT THE CURRENT [CIA] CHIEF OF STATION HERE [NORMAN DESCOTEAUX], AND TWO OF THE OPERATIONS OFFICERS ARRIVED IN KINGSTON DURING THE MIDDLE AND LATTER PART OF LAST YEAR PRIOR TO THE INITIATION OF VIOLENCE.”

AGEE PRESS RELEASE (September 17 1976)

May 11 2022 —  On December 3, 1976, two days before the Smile Jamaica concert, seven men with guns raided Marley’s house at 56 Hope Road around 8.30 pm. Marley’s wife, Rita, was shot in the head. The gunmen shot Marley in the chest and arm. His manager, Don Taylor, was shot in the legs and torso. Astonishingly, there were no fatalities. On This Day — Enigma Machine Captured (May 9 1941)

Posted on May 9, 2022 by L

“Also the coding machine was found here, plugged in and as though it was in actual use when abandoned. The general appearance of this machine being that of a type writer, the telegraphist pressed the keys and finding results peculiar sent it up the hatch. This W/T office seemed far less complicated than our own-sets were more compact and did not seem to have the usual excess of switches, plug holes, knobs, ‘tally’s’ etc on the outside.”

Lieutenant David Balme — Report on the U-110  boarding

“The attack was a mistake. Let me emphasise our investigation has determined that no one, and I repeat, no one knowingly targeted the Chinese Embassy. Speculation to the contrary is simply unfounded. No one at any stage in the process realised that our bombs were aimed at the Chinese Embassy.”

LOCKERBIE — The Genesis of the Tehran Conspiracy Theory

Posted on April 23, 2022 by L

“Intelligence Agencies create stories inside stories, each with its carefully constructed trail of evidence, in order to create false trails as diversions.”

James Jesus Angleton

Associate Deputy Director of Operations for Counterintelligence from 1954 to 1975

April 23 2022 — For many years, Wilhelm Dietl used his job as a journalist to spy for the German intelligence agency BND in the Middle East. Dietl also planted disinformation pieces at the request of the CIA in German media, including a key story about the alleged Tehran’s payment of US$ 1.3 million for the Lockerbie bombing. Although I discovered the truth 15 years ago, I decided to keep the story secret… Until now. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY

World Earth Day — How accurate were EXXON predictions about Global Warming? [UPDATE : INTEL TODAY predictions for 2040]

Posted on April 22, 2022 by L

“Exxon was aware of climate change, as early as 1977, 11 years before it became a public issue… This knowledge did not prevent the company from spending decades refusing to publicly acknowledge climate change and even promoting climate misinformation — an approach many have likened to the lies spread by the tobacco industry regarding the health risks of smoking.”

Scientific American (October 2015)

Exxon’s private prediction of the future growth of carbon dioxide levels (left axis) and global temperature relative to 1982 (right axis). Elsewhere in its report, Exxon noted that the most widely accepted science at the time indicated that doubling carbon dioxide levels would cause a global warming of 3°C.
Exxon’s private prediction of the future growth of carbon dioxide levels (left axis) and global temperature relative to 1982 (right axis).

January 24 2022 — In the early 80s, oil companies like Exxon and Shell carried out internal assessments of the carbon dioxide released by fossil fuels, and forecast the planetary consequences of these emissions. How accurate were those predictions? Short answer: very good. And if they had not made a silly mistake — never reported before — the Exxon predictions would have been amazingly correct. PS — Please, keep in mind that in those years, the CIA expected a new ice age! Obviously, Corporate Intelligence beats the Central Intelligence Agency. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY
