Welcome to Belgistan! [Is Belgium a Failed State?]

“While the government has acknowledged that hundreds of Belgians have gone to fight with ISIS or for other groups in the Syrian civil war, Pieter Van Ostaeyen, an independent researcher, calculated in October (2015) that 516 Belgians had fought in Iraq or Syria, far higher than the government’s figures. Based on his numbers, Belgium has contributed more fighters per capita to the fight in the Levant than any other European country.”

David A. Graham — The Atlantic (November 2015)

“The Committee will want to consider whether Gaddafi’s prophetic warning of the rise of extremist militant groups following the collapse of the regime was wrongly ignored because of Gaddafi’s otherwise delusional take on international affairs. The evidence that the Committee has taken so far in this inquiry suggests that western policy makers were rather less perceptive than Gaddafi about the risks of intervention for both the Libyan people and the western interests.” Crispin Blunt MP, Chair.

Brussels is the capital of Belgium as well as the capital of Europe. But some are now calling it the ‘Muslim’ capital of Europe The small European nation has become a major source of violent jihadists, both in Syria and Iraq and also inside Europe. After the Paris and Brussels attacks, many have denounced Belgium as a Failed State. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

One Year Ago — Who Is Who in World Intelligence and Security Agencies : DGSE – Bernard BAJOLET

“The Middle East we have known is over. We see that Syria is already divided on the ground, that the regime is controlling only a small part of the county, only one-third of the country which was established after WWII. We have the same thing in Iraq. I doubt really that one can come back to the previous situation.”

Bernard Bajolet — Former DGSE Director

US — CIA goes to war with WikiLeaks [POLL]

“It is the sense of Congress that WikiLeaks and the senior leadership of WikiLeaks resemble a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors and should be treated as such a service by the United States.”

2018 US intelligence authorization bill

The Senate Intelligence Committee has approved a bill classifying WikiLeaks as a “non-state hostile intelligence service.” Phillip Giraldi, former CIA officer and counter-terrorism specialist, explains how this is “like going to war” and that he “would not rule out assassinations.” Follow us on Twitter:  @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

One Year Ago — CIA and BND Employed Former SS “Bloody Brigitte” – Reflections on Nazis and ISIS

“Although she understandably questions the morality of the decision to hire Nazi SS scientists, Jacobsen balances her judgment with an understanding of the perceived threat of the Soviet Union under Stalin and the communists’ dialectical determination to prepare for total war with the West.”

Dilyana Gaytandzhieva: CIA supplies ISIS & al-Qaeda Terrorists in Iraq and Syria [UPDATE]

“Why does [Former CIA Director] Mr. Morell believe a Syrian transitional government will end the civil war when transitional governments in Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, and Libya did nothing to end civil wars in their respective countries?”

Bruce Fein — US Constitutional Lawyer

Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) also carried out their own lengthy investigations which are consistent with Trud News journalist Gaytandzhieva’s findings. Infographic source: Balkan Insight

One Year Ago — CIA PALANTIR Sues Early Investor

“[Since 2013] U.S. spy agencies also employ Palantir to connect databases across departments. Before this, most of the databases used by the CIA and FBI were siloed, forcing users to search each database individually. Now everything is linked together using Palantir.”

TechCrunch — January 2015

NORTH KOREA Claims to Have Successfully Tested H-Bomb [UPDATE — First estimate of the Yield]

“The institute recently succeeded in making a more developed nuke. Kim Jong-un watched an H-bomb to be loaded into a new ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile).”

KCNA — North Korea State News Agency (September 3 2017)

“Based on the similarity of the seismic data between 3 September 2017 event and North Korea’s previous nuclear tests, we confirm that 3 September 2017 event is a nuclear test in nature. We have determined that North Korea’s 3 September 2017 nuclear test occurred at UTC 2017/09/03 03:30, (2017/09/03 12:00 local time), at the location of (41°17’53.52”N, 129°4’27.12”E), with an estimated yield of 108.3±48.1 kt.”

USTC  — Lianxing Wen’s Geogroup

North Korea said on Sunday (September 3 2017) it has developed a more advanced nuclear weapon that has “great destructive power” and leader Kim Jong Un inspected a hydrogen bomb that will be loaded on a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). Considering the magnitude of the event as reported by the US Geological Survey,  I have estimated — in first approximation — the yield of the device at about 126.8 kilotons of TNT equivalent. [A well known Chinese research group has since provided a similar estimate.] However the magnitudes reported by South Korea and NORSAR are much lower. Wormwood — The mysterious death of Cold War-era military scientist Frank Olson [UPDATE]

“To what extent can a democracy lie to its citizens and still, in the end, remain a democracy?

I believe what separates us from dumb animals is that we pursue, maybe we don’t achieve it, but we pursue certainty. It’s a goal. A dream. To deny that importance of that goal or that dream is unspeakable. Where would we be without it? We’d be out in the jungle having various temper tantrums like the president of the United States.”

Errol Morris — Statement about “Wormwood”

Wormwood is based on a true story and explores the mysterious death of Cold War-era military scientist Frank Olson (played by Sarsgaard) and his son’s tireless efforts to uncover the truth. In 1953, Frank Olson was recruited to be part of a secret biological warfare program cryptically referred to as Project MKUltra. The miniseries is blending long-form documentary interview with a dramatic reconstruction of pivotal scenes.

Errol Morris, one of the most acclaimed and influential documentarians of all time, is back with a project unlike anything he has ever done before. Wormwood, told in six parts, deals with CIA mind-control experiments in the 1950s and the infamous death of US Major Frank Olson. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading
