Maltese Investigative Blogger Killed in Car Bomb [UPDATE]

“The best way to think of Daphne Caruana Galizia is as a one-woman WikiLeaks, crusading against untransparency and corruption in Malta, an island nation famous for both. To John Dalli, a former European commissioner whom she helped bring down in a tobacco lobbying scandal, Galizia is a terrorist. To opposition MPs, she’s a political force of nature, one who fortunately has her guns aimed at the other side of the aisle. She single-handedly brought the government to the verge of collapse.”

Daphne Caruana Galizia — 26 August 1964 – 16 October 2017

VALLETTA  – Daphne Caruana Galizia — Malta’s best-known investigative journalist — was killed on Monday (October 16 2017) when a powerful bomb blew up her car. Galizia was 53 and leaves a husband and three sons. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

TOP INTEL TODAY 2017 STORIES #4 : “CYBER AWARENESS CHALLENGE: Take the US DoD TEST!”

“But it’s worse than that. This training is also bad security policy, since the most dangerous and effective counterintelligence or terrorist threats are unlikely to telegraph their views openly. Those who are on the lookout for outspoken critics of U.S. foreign policy based on this training are likely to miss them entirely.”

Steven Aftergood — Secrecy expert at the Federation of American Scientists.

A new version of a computer-based cyber-security training course from the Pentagon is available online. This post was published on February 26 2017. Its popularity was certainly not expected.

Netherlands — US Ambassador’s ‘Fake News’ Claim Backfires [UPDATE]

“The Islamic movement has now gotten to a point where they have put Europe into chaos. Chaos in the Netherlands. There are cars being burned, there are politicians that are being burned. And yes, there are no-go zones in the Netherlands.”

Pete Hoekstra — 2015

In an interview with a Dutch reporter, US Ambassador to the Netherlands Peter Hoekstra denied a comment he made in 2015 about the “Islamic movement,” calling it fake news. Then he denied his denial. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

CIA Director — “Mike Pompeo on North Korea, Iran, and Pakistan”

“I got a call from the President one afternoon back in April [2017]. He wanted to talk about some disturbing images that were coming in from Syria. I’m sure you saw many of them yourselves — scenes of innocent civilians writhing in agony, the apparent victims of a chemical weapons attack.”

CIA Director Mike Pompeo

“This perversion of principles – twisting information to fit a desired conclusion – became the modus vivendi of American politics and journalism. And those of us who insisted on defending the journalistic principles of skepticism and evenhandedness were increasingly shunned by our colleagues, a hostility that first emerged on the Right and among neoconservatives but eventually sucked in the progressive world as well. Everything became “information warfare.”

Robert Parry — Consortium News

TOP INTEL TODAY 2017 STORIES #5 : “Flynngate — The Mysterious Svetlana Lokhova”

“Multiple sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the CIA and FBI were discussing this episode, along with many others, as they assessed Flynn’s suitability to serve as national security adviser. The Cambridge meeting was part of a wider pattern of  maverick behaviour which included repeated contacts with Russia.”

The Guardian

Svetlana Lokhova

Long before his nomination as Trump’s National Security Advisor, US and UK Intelligence officials were troubled by Lieutenant-General Michael Flynn’s relationship with a Russian woman.

Havana Syndrome & Microwave Weapons: Q&A with Professor James Lin [UPDATE 2]

“Whether or not a microwave weapon was the culprit, this stealth technique may be a weapon of the future. I would not be surprised if some military establishment around the world invests or has already been engaged in such a program.”

Professor James Lin — UIC

Professor James Lin

Two months ago, I suggested than a microwave weapon — and not sonic attacks — may be the cause of the “Havana syndrome”. Professor James Lin just published a paper on the possibility that the Havana syndrome might indeed be explained by a secret microwave weapon. Professor Lin has kindly agreed to review the known facts about this case and compare them to our current knowledge of ‘microwave weapons’. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

TOP INTEL TODAY 2017 STORIES — #6 : Juan Pablo Escobar: “My Father Worked for the CIA.”

“My father worked for the CIA selling cocaine to finance the fight against Communism in Central America.”

Juan Pablo Escobar

pablo

“In a new book, Pablo Escobar’s son claims that his father worked for the CIA.” This post was published on February 24, 2017. I believe that it is rather obvious why this post attracted many readers. The dubious suicide of Gary Webb, the absolutely devastating evidence of the “Chiquita papers”, the obviously faked statistics on current cocaine production and the now documented false accusation against Pablo Escobar regarding the AVIANCA Flight 203 tragedy can only leave people with the feeling that “the true story” has not been told yet. Few people knew — before reading this post — that the US DIA once regarded the former president of Colombia as a narco-terrorist. And saddly, even fewer seem to remember that the current Colombian president was the defense minister at the time of the ‘Falsos Positivos’ scandal.

One Year Ago — Intel Report Suspiciously Anachronistic

“The weight of evidence for an extraordinary claim must be proportioned to its strangeness.”

Pierre-Simon Laplace (1749–1827)

ica

The report, released Friday (January 6 2017), outlines how Russian President Vladimir Putin aimed to hurt Hillary Clinton and help President-elect Donald Trump by using by “an influence campaign” which included hacking Democratic groups and figures.  The ’25-page’ Intel Report per se is in fact 5 pages long and the document contains 7 pages of information related to the 2012 US election! TOP INTEL TODAY 2017 STORIES — #7 : DARPA to Resurrect Top-Secret “PANDORA Project”

“DARPA develops the weapons of the future. It funds everything from basic science to advanced technology, though the ultimate goal is always to develop something that can be used by the military.”

Sharon Weinberger — “The Imagineers of War: The Untold Story of DARPA, the Pentagon Agency That Changed the World.”

mind-control-darpa

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, better known as DARPA, is embarking on a new program, called RadioBio, to determine whether cells are able to exchange information with  EM signals and, if so, what the cells are saying and how they do it. This new initiative seems very close to the once TOP-SECRET “PANDORA Project”.

UPDATE January 7 2017 — This post was published on february 22 2017. At first, few people were interested. So, why did this post become so popular later on?

Suspicious Aviation Tragedies — November 27 1989 : Avianca Flight 203 [UPDATE (Spanish) : Simon Bolivar Prize 2017]

“It’s not an item that appears on most attorneys’ bucket lists: ‘Challenge the commonly held explanation of a national tragedy and help win another country’s version of the Pulitzer Prize.’ It’s not that it’s not a noble goal, but where would you start?”

Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly — Retired lawyer probes crash, shares ‘Colombian Pulitzer’ (December 14 2017)

“No one acts alone without orders in the FBI. We had clear goals which were clearly given to us in every document we received from anyone. If a police organization wished for us to provide them “proof” of guilt, then they told us in many ways of their absolute belief that the perpetrators were those individuals they had already arrested. If the president of the United States tells the country in the national news that Dandeny Munoz Mosquera is one of the most feared assassins in the history of the world, then every agent knows that he must provide information to support that statement. If leaders decide without concern for foundation of truth then most people will follow them.”

Fred Whitehurst — Former FBI Chemist (Email to the author)

Avianca 203

Avianca Airlines Flight 203 was a Colombian domestic passenger flight from El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá to Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Cali. Avianca Flight 203 crashed over the municipality of Soacha on November 27, 1989. Allegedly, the plane was destroyed by a bomb. This explanation is however much disputed by experts today.

UPDATE (January 6 2017) : Colombian journalists Pablo Correa, Sergio Silva and retired US Newton Center attorney Thomas Hoffman share the 2017 Simon Bolivar Prize (Category: Investigative journalism) for their outstanding work on the true story of AVIANCA Flight 203.
