Two Years Ago — The Trump Dossier : Raw Intelligence or Clever Fabrication? — POLL

“I think it was disgraceful – disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that turned out to be so false and fake out. I think it’s a disgrace… and that’s something that Nazi Germany would have done and did do.”

US President-Elect Donald Trump

“When spies get angry, they call reporters and arrange discreet chats in parking garages. The last president who entered the Oval Office with this much dislike and distrust of the IC was Richard Nixon—and we know how that worked out for him.”

John R. Schindler — Former NSA and professor of national security affairs at the U.S. Naval War College

“I can tell you right now Brennan is an asshole. I have known all these people for years. Clapper is — sort of — a better guy but not a rocket scientist. The NSA guys are fucking morons. You know the trouble with all of those guys is that the only way they are going to make it to a board, or two, and get hired (…) to deliver some fat cat contracts is if Hillary stayed in.”

Seymour Hersh [Phone interview]

January 14 2017 — The ‘Trump dossier’ consists of a series of unsigned memos that appear to have been written between June and December 2016. The dossier contains lurid and mostly hard-to-prove allegations.

UPDATE (January 14 2019) — It has been two years since the so-called Steele dossier was published by BuzzFeed News for public consumption. INTEL TODAY would like to know what you think.

Is the Steele dossier a genuine work of intelligence or a piece of disinformation?

5G — Will European Countries Ban Huawei? [UPDATE : Norway considering whether to exclude Huawei]

“Perhaps, the most puzzling part of the [Belgian Intelligence Services] report is what it does not mention. Although most countries are extremely concerned about China investments in their Telecom infrastructure, the Belgian report is silent on this issue. Why, on earth, why?”

Intel Today – November 30 2018

“Given the massive cybersecurity and national security risks, the only responsible decision is for Berlin to follow the Australian, New Zealand, and U.S. lead and ban Chinese providers from the German 5G network. In doing so, Europe’s strongest economy would send a crucial signal to the rest of the European Union members that are grappling with the same decision.”

Thorsten Benner — Director of the Global Public Policy Institute in Berlin (December 9 2018)

“The UK needs to take decision on the extent to which we are going to be comfortable with Chinese ownership of these technologies.”

MI6 chief Alex Younger (December 3 2018)

“Huawei shares with the Chinese state intimate and extensive knowledge of the foreign telecommunications systems it is involved with.”

General Michael Hayden — Former head of the U.S. National Security Agency

December 5 2018 — The United States, Australia and New Zealand have already blocked Huawei from building their new 5G networks on security grounds. On Wednesday (Dec. 5), Britain’s BT Group said it would rip Huawei equipment from its core telecom network. Canada is also likely to ban Huawei.

On Friday (Dec. 7), it was reported that Japan is expected to ban government use of products made by Huawei and ZTE over cybersecurity concerns.

So, why on earth has Europe been silent on this critical issue for so long? What are they waiting for? I am afraid that it will all depend on Germany’s decision. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

Two Years Ago — Radio Pyongyang Resurrects its ‘NUMBERS STATION’. How does it work anyway?

“Some are worried it signals that North Korean might be planning some type of operation, alerting its spies by sending the coded broadcast. But for that to be true, North Korean agents would have had to have been listening at the right time to take down the message, and how would they have known it was coming? Numbers haven’t been broadcast for 16 years, so have agents really spent the last decade and a half listening just in case something came across? It is possible they could have been alerted that such a message was about to be broadcast, but then when why not send the message contents over whatever communications channel was used for such an alert?”

Martyn Williams — 38 North

The broadcast on July 15 2016 was the first number sequence aired by Pyongyang in over 16 years.

January 14 2017 — Last year, North Korea reactivated its numbers station. And now, V15 transmits on FM! The numbers read on state radio are reminiscent of a cold war-era method of sending coded messages to spies in South Korea. But they could also be an attempt to wage psychological warfare. CIA Issues Posthumous Apology After New Evidence Clears Abdel Baset al-Megrahi of Involvement In Lockerbie Attack — When Parody Beats Justice…!

“The Myth surrounding Libya and Megrahi now quietly slides into history. Political Expedience rules over Truth.”

Richard C. Fuisz M.D.  (Former high-level CIA asset) — Email to Intel Today (December 21 2018)

“Look — in the intelligence community — I’m not giving you a controversial opinion here. I kept up with all of the CIA, National Security Agency analysts, everybody involved in the intelligence side, and to a man nobody has ever said to me that it was Libya. The National Security Agency reporting on Lockerbie is absolutely damming that it was Iran and Syria behind it, rather than Libya. It’s damning, damning, damning, it’s rock solid intelligence”.

Robert Baer (Former CIA Officer)

“Let me take, for example, the Lockerbie case and also the case of the Ténéré [UTA] that were blamed on Libya when all intelligence services know that these attacks were committed by Ahmed Jibril under the inspiration and funding from Iran.”

Yves Bonnet (Former Director of the French Intelligence Agency)

“The case was largely based on this inside guy [Libyan defector Abdul Majid Giaka]. It wasn’t until the trial that I learned this guy was a nut-job and that the CIA had absolutely no confidence in him and that they knew he was a liar. The CIA and the FBI kept the State Department in the dark. It worked for them for us to be fully committed to the theory that Libya was responsible.”

Michael Scharf —  Director of the Frederick K. Cox International Law Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Law

January 13 2019 — This week, four black men who were wrongly accused of raping a white teenager in Florida 70 years ago have been pardoned. Officials voted unanimously to issue the pardon at a meeting in the state capital of Tallahassee. The Onion — an American newspaper organization famous for its satirical articles — published an amazingly ‘funny’ piece titled: CIA Issues Posthumous Apology After New Evidence Clears Osama Bin Laden Of Involvement In 9/11 Attacks. I took the liberty to repost the piece with a few edits. I replaced the name (and picture) of Osama Bin Laden by Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, the name of Zacarias Moussaoui by Ahmed Jibril as well as 9/11 by Lockerbie. The result is quite disturbing. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

Remembering Dr Udo Ulfkotte (January 20 1960 – January 13 2017)

“I’ve been a journalist for about 25 years and I was educated to lie, to betray and not to tell the truth to the public. The truth will come out one day, the truth won’t die.”

“No German mainstream journalist is allowed to report about my book. Otherwise he or she will be sacked. So we have a bestseller now that no German journalist is allowed to write or talk about.”

Dr. Udo Ulfkotte — German Journalist and Whistleblower

“On May 15, 2017 Next Revelation Press — an imprint of US-Canadian-based publisher Tayen Lane — released the English version of Bought Journalists, under the title, Journalists for Hire: How the CIA Buys the News. The English translation (…) appears to have been suppressed throughout North America and Europe.”

James F Tracy

“Authentic journalism is telling people something that the government doesn’t want them to know.”

Gary Webb (August 31, 1955 – December 10, 2004)

January 13 2019 — In 2014, German journalist Udo Ulfkotte, former director of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and author of the book “Gekaufte Journalisten”  (Journalists for Hire), denounced European media who write lies under pressure from the CIA. On This Day — Zola : “J’accuse…!” (January 13 1898)

“The Dreyfus affair was not only the first modern Counter-Intelligence case, but it was also the first modern Counter-Intelligence  disaster — that is, not just an investigative and legal error, but one that spilled over from the intelligence world into the sphere of mass politics, with consequences for culture and society as well.”

John Ehmman — The Lessons for Counter-Intelligence of the Dreyfus Affair (CIA Website)

“J’Accuse…!” was an open letter published on January 13 1898 in the newspaper L’Aurore by the influential writer Émile Zola. In the letter, Zola addressed President of France Félix Faure and accused the government of anti-Semitism and the unlawful jailing of Alfred Dreyfus, a French Army General Staff officer who was sentenced to lifelong penal servitude for espionage.

Zola pointed out judicial errors and lack of serious evidence. The letter was printed on the front page of the newspaper and caused a stir in France and abroad. Zola was prosecuted for libel and found guilty on February 23 1898. To avoid imprisonment, he fled to England, returning home in June 1899.

As a result of the popularity of the letter, even in the English-speaking world, J’accuse! has become a common generic expression of outrage and accusation against someone powerful.  Follow us on twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading

EXCLUSIVE — Belgian Mercenary Killed Dag Hammarskjold // UPDATE — Story Confirmed!

“I also received information regarding an unauthenticated claim made by a Belgian pilot, “Beukels”, to Claude de Kemoularia in 1967 that Beukels shot down or otherwise forced SE-BDY to crash. In the course of my work, I was for the first time given access to the originals of De Kemoularia’s agendas, as well as many of his personal records, which appear to verify his meeting with “Beukels” and other mercenaries in 1967. I also reviewed De Kemoularia’s letters showing that he had gone to the French and Swedish authorities regarding Beukels’s claim much earlier than previously understood. However, without further information, I was not able to verify other aspects of the claim, including, most notably, the identity of Beukels.”

One Year Ago — CIA Director Mike Pompeo on North Korea, Iran, and Pakistan

“I got a call from the President one afternoon back in April [2017]. He wanted to talk about some disturbing images that were coming in from Syria. I’m sure you saw many of them yourselves — scenes of innocent civilians writhing in agony, the apparent victims of a chemical weapons attack.”

CIA Director Mike Pompeo

“This perversion of principles – twisting information to fit a desired conclusion – became the modus vivendi of American politics and journalism. And those of us who insisted on defending the journalistic principles of skepticism and evenhandedness were increasingly shunned by our colleagues, a hostility that first emerged on the Right and among neoconservatives but eventually sucked in the progressive world as well. Everything became “information warfare.”

Robert Parry — Consortium News

January 12 2018 — CIA Director Mike Pompeo joined Face the Nation host John Dickerson to discuss the Trump administration’s policies towards North Korea, Iran, and Pakistan. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading
