On August 19, Judge Dabney Friedrich raised serious concerns about the prosecution’s handling and authentication of evidence in the Lockerbie case:

“You proceed at your own peril. (…) It’s like you’re not telling me something.”

On August 20, Intel Today wrote:

“If the defense challenges the provenance and chain of custody of PT/35(b), the fragment of bomb timer circuitry that became a central element in the case against Libya, the prosecution could face a potentially devastating evidentiary problem.

There are serious reasons to question the authenticity and provenance of PT/35(b), including allegations that the fragment may have been fabricated and planted to implicate Libya.

If that evidence cannot withstand scrutiny, the consequences for the prosecution could be devastating. The entire case might very well collapse. Perhaps, after all these years, History is not yet written…”

Then, on August 21, previously unknown evidence was discovered and passed to the defence the following day.

On August 25, lawyers acting for Abu Agila Masud argued that:

“Constitutional and ethical obligations require the defense to investigate this development.”

And the trial was postponed…

Coincidence?

According to an insider, the halt of the Lockerbie trial was triggered by research I published on Intel Today.

Specifically, I am told that it concerns my investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged discoveries of the first MST-13 timers in Togo and Senegal.

My research into these events raises extremely serious questions about the provenance of the Swiss timers and their subsequent use in the case against Libya.

The French archives leave no credible basis for the claim that MST-13 timers were involved in the Togo coup. The documentary record shows that the timers seized during the coup were not MST-13 timers.

My investigation into Senegal raises equally troubling questions. The President of Senegal, whom I contacted years ago, and other officials made clear that the arrest of two Libyans in Senegal was a sting operation. The agent involved (Ahmed Khalifa Niasse) told me that his plane ticket had been paid for by the office of the President.

The documentary evidence I have gathered also indicates that both French and U.S. intelligence were involved in the operation. The highest-ranking official in Senegal at the time was a CIA asset codenamed S/2.

Taken together, this evidence raises a fundamental question about the origins and provenance of the MST-13 timers subsequently associated with the Lockerbie case. And it is superbly documented in state archives.

For obvious reasons, I cannot say more at this stage.

Truth is the daughter of time.

PS – Did you know that FBI Agent Richard Marquise considered the possibility that PT/35b had been planted by the CIA? Here is his own words:

“Cretton [Real name : Swiss Inspector Hans Knaus] expressed his concerns (…) The first was that the CIA had planted the chip [PT/35(b)] in the wreckage found at Lockerbie. [Detective Superintendant (SIO) Stuart] Henderson and I told him this thought had also crossed our minds. Neither of us believed the CIA or any government official would do such a thing, but we had discussed the possibility.”
