On March 11 2020, the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission [SCCRC] decided to refer the Lockerbie case back to the High Court of Justiciary for determination. As a result of the Commission’s decision, Mr. Megrahi’s family was therefore entitled to instruct an appeal against his conviction.
The first procedural hearing took place on Friday August 21 2020. The Appeal started on November 24 2020 and ended 3 days later. The five judges will now produce a written submission as soon as practicable.

UPDATE (December 22 2020) — Time heals all wounds. But sometimes, time wounds old heels.
Surely, the Lockerbie Affair is a case in point. Everyone is suddenly an expert. Everyone has now an opinion.
But none of these clowns are actually thinking. There will be plenty of time to explain all the nonsense going on. Today I would like to make a simple point.
Give Bill Barr some credit. The new indictment is slightly better than the first one.
Indeed, they have corrected a mistake that only this writer has reported. But, while correcting this nonsense, they make an other mistake that is almost hilarious…
According to US DoJ / FBI star witness Majid Giaka, Megrahi arrived in Malta with the infamous brown Samsonite suitcase on December 20 1988.
Actually, as I point out in my book, Giaka never reported this event to his CIA’s handler.
Richard Marquise has suggested an explanation in his book.
“Giaka had met his CIA handlers in the morning of December 20, 1988. He had not yet been to the Luqa airport. (…)
He next met his CIA handler about one month later and this travel was not fresh in his mind; He either did not report it or his CIA case officer failed to document it.”
The truth is actually far more simple. Giaka did not report this event because he never witnessed it.
The debriefing with his CIA handler — at a CIA safe house away from the airport — did NOT occur in the morning of December 20 but in the afternoon, between 12:00 and 18:00.
Why did Marquise lie about the time of Giaka’s meeting with his CIA’s handlers?

“According to the affidavit in support of the criminal complaint, in the winter of 1988, Masud was summoned by a Libyan intelligence official to meet at that official’s office in Tripoli, Libya, where he was directed to fly to Malta with a prepared suitcase.
He did so, where he was met by Megrahi and Fhimah at the airport. After Masud spent approximately three or four days in the hotel, Megrahi and Fhimah instructed Masud to set the timer on the device in the suitcase for the following morning, so that the explosion would occur exactly eleven hours later.
According to the affidavit, the suitcase used by Masud was a medium-sized Samsonite suitcase that he used for traveling. Megrahi and Fhimah were both at the airport on the morning of Dec. 21, 1988, and Masud handed the suitcase to Fhimah after Fhimah gave him a signal to do so.
Fhimah then placed the suitcase on the conveyor belt. Masud then left. He was given a boarding pass for a Libyan flight to Tripoli, which was to take off at 9:00 a.m.
Three or four days after returning to Libya, Masud and Megrahi met with a senior Libyan intelligence official, who thanked them for a successful operation.
Approximately three months after that, Masud and Fhimah met with Qaddafi, and others, who thanked them for carrying out a great national duty against the Americans, and Qaddafi added that the operation was a total success.“
Nice story.
OK. Let start with the obvious. Now, the indictment no longer claims that Megrahi brought the primary suitcase to Luqa airport on December 20 1988.
But there is one problem. They claim that Masud arrived in Malta three or four days before the tragedy.
At the same time, the indictment alleges that Masud was met by Megrahi at the airport.
That is of course impossible as Megrahi was not in Malta before December 20 1988.

On December 21 1988, N739PA — the Boeing 747 aircraft operating the transatlantic leg of Pan Am Flight 103 — broke up in flight over Scotland. All 243 passengers and 16 crew died as well as 11 residents of Lockerbie.
This horrific crime has been called the world’s biggest unsolved murder.
The conference will be broadcast live at 15.30 GMT on the website of the US DoJ.
The US Attorney General William Barr is expected to unseal indictments against two other suspects.
Intel Today believes that the US DoJ intends to charge Abu Agila Massud and Abdullah Senussi in connection to the Lockerbie bombing.
Masud and Senussi have already been indicted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.
Masud was given 10 years for bomb-making. Senussi was sentenced to death by a Libyan court in 2015 but is still in custody. Both men are currently held in a Tripoli jail.
Trust me. We are heading for the perfect Xmas Kiss.

UPDATE ( 15.30 GMT) — US Attorney General Bill Barr begins to speak. FBI Director Chris Wray is not present.
At the time, investigators could not identify/locate Masud.
I am pleased to to announce that … the US DoJ charges Masud for his role in the Lockerbie bombing.
According to the affidavit, Masud built the bomb that destroyed PA 103.
Masud was also involved in the bombing of the La Belle Disco.
This man will be face justice.
It is our our hope that Libya will allow us to prosecute this man.
There is much work still to be done
Then, comes an ‘expert’… (Even if you know nothing about Lockerbie, you will notice at once that this jerk is an total idiot!)
“SEMTEX residues were found on the Samsonite luggage.”
This is FALSE INFORMATION. No pieces of the primary luggage were tested positive to SEMTEX.
“We have an extremely compelling case. The Forensic is amazing.”

What is the prospect that Libya will turn over Masud? The chances are very good.
Scotland is supportive of our actions.
It was important to bring this case back. It was unfinished business. The full measure of justice was denied.
BTW — No charges against Senussi? I wonder why?
