Two Years Ago — Former Tanzania top judge will lead new investigation into Dag Hammarskjold’s suspicious death

“It will be Necessary to find some way of pulling Hammarskjold up short.”

UK Prime Minister Harold Macmillan (September 13  1961)

“Hammarskjöld was at the point of getting something done when they killed him. Notice that I said ‘when they killed him’.”

US President Harry Truman (September 19  1961)

UPDATE (February 13 2019) — On January 12 2019, The Guardian confirmed that Belgian mercenary Jan van Risseghem was indeed the person responsible for the death of Dag Hammarskjold and his crew, as previously reported by Intel Today.

The Belgian State Security Services — VSSE — had provided Jan Van Risseghem with a rock solid alibi.

However, newly released official documents from the VSSE show that this alibi is a pure fabrication…

On September 18 1961, the Ndola United Nations DC-6 crashed, killing Dag Hammarskjöld — the second Secretary-General of the United Nations — and 15 others died. Hammarskjöld’s death occurred en route to cease-fire negotiations.

A British-run commission of inquiry blamed the crash in 1961 on pilot error. A later UN investigation rubber-stamped its findings. Case close? Not so fast…

Last December (December 23 2016), the UN General Assembly passed a resolution reaffirming its “responsibility to pursue the full truth concerning the conditions and circumstances resulting in the tragic death of Dag Hammarskjöld and of the members of the party accompanying him”.

The resolution recognises “that a further inquiry or investigation would be necessary to finally establish the facts of the matter” and requests that the secretary general “appoint an eminent person to review the potential new information, including that which may be available from member states, to assess its probative value and to determine the scope that any further inquiry or investigation should take”.

The UN resolution urges:

“All member states to release any relevant records in their possession and to ensure that any relevant records related to the death of Dag Hammarskjöld and of the members of the party accompanying him that remain classified, more than 50 years after the fact, are declassified or otherwise made available for review.”

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has appointed Tanzania’s former chief justice Mohamed Chande Othman to lead the review which former U.N. secretary-general Ban Ki-moon called for in August 2016 and the General Assembly requested in a resolution adopted on December 23 2016.

“In July 2015, an independent panel reviewing new information about the crash concluded  that the United States and Britain have retained some classified files, and that South Africa had not responded to several requests for information.”

In August 2016, former U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon  said that Britain had again refused to release classified material in response to U.N. requests for information. He said that:

“Responses from the United States and Belgium didn’t alter the panel’s conclusion that the possibility of an aerial attack or interference should be pursued.”

Ban’s note included a letter dated July 1, 2016 from South Africa’s U.N. Mission saying the government fully supports the U.N. investigation.

“The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development has directed that a search be undertaken for any documents, records or information.”

The panel had cited documents from the South African Institute for Maritime Research that refer to “Operation Celeste”, purportedly to “remove” Hammarskjold with cooperation from then U.S. CIA director Allen Dulles. The panel was not able to conclude whether the documents were authentic.

The new investigation could be explosive… I have long suspected that Crypto AG had entered into a close relationship with the NSA and that some of their machines were rigged to allowed the US Agency to easily ‘decrypt’ the coded messages. These claims were vindicated by US government documents declassified in 2015.

According to Sixten Svensson  (Brother- in- law of Crypto AG Founder Boris Hagelin), the machine used by Hammarskjöld during his visit to Congo was one of the rigged machine. Svensson got this information directly from Boris Hagelin.

So the CIA, the NSA and the CGHQ were able to read his communications in real – time. (This information will not be published before 2033.)

UPDATE (February 13 2018) — The UN report into the death of Dag Hammarskjöld in a plane crash in 1961 found that there was a “significant amount of evidence” that the Albertina DC6 in which the Swedish diplomat was flying had been brought down by another aircraft.

In the UN Report A/71/1042, the lead investigator Mohamed Chande Othman wrote:

“I also received information regarding an unauthenticated claim made by a Belgian pilot, ‘Beukels’, to Claude de Kemoularia in 1967 that Beukels shot down or otherwise forced SE-BDY to crash.

In the course of my work, I was for the first time given access to the originals of De Kemoularia’s agendas, as well as many of his personal records, which appear to verify his meeting with “Beukels” and other mercenaries in 1967.

I also reviewed De Kemoularia’s letters showing that he had gone to the French and Swedish authorities regarding Beukels’s claim much earlier than previously understood.

However, without further information, I was not able to verify other aspects of the claim, including, most notably, the identity of ‘Beukels’.”

According to well informed sources, the story of ‘Beukels’ is an attempt to distract the investigators. Beukels was not even a pilot. Indeed, Victor R. Posted the following comment about a recent post:

“We are wasting too much time looking for the case of the diplomat Claude Demoularia and the officers (brothers) De Troyer and Grant concerning the famous pilot Beukels who would have descended the Albertina with on board the secretary general of the United Nations Mr Dag Hammarskjöld.

This is a false track, the real name of this pilot is Roger Beuckels who is not a pilot at all but a mercenary who served in the 14th Commando in 1964/65 around Stanleyville where he committed atrocities. It seems that he was also in Kipushi in Katanga in 1962/63.

Before that he already had a career as a criminal … The officers De Troyer (yet occupying high positions in the army) who brought this witness knew very well that this Beukels was a false track … one can ask why they did this?”
