GERMANY — Turkey conducting espionage against supporters of Fethullah Gulen

“This report does not come as a complete surprise to me. We have repeatedly told Turkey that something like this is unacceptable. No matter what position someone may have on the Gulen movement, here German law is applied and citizens will not be spied on by foreign countries.”

Thomas de Maizière — German Foreign Minister

Turkey: “ex-CIA director’s allegations on Gülen’s forced removal are ludicrous”

“We will continue to work decisively in cooperation with the U.S. judicial authorities to finalize this process and obtain positive results without further delay. Any other allegation in connection with the extradition of Fetullah Gulen to Turkey is false, ludicrous and groundless.”

Embassy of Turkey in Washington D.C. — March 28 2017

THE FULLER MEMORANDUM – May 1985. Why it still matters today

“The study was instrumental in persuading some top-ranking Reagan Administration policy makers to begin considering covert contacts with Iranian leaders. It eventually led to the covert sale of United States weapons to Teheran in what became the Iran-contra affair.”

New York Time, 15 February 1988

In a recent post, I discussed former CIA Director James Woolsey’s allegation that Flynn Intel Group had met with high level Turkish Officials to ‘explore’ non-judicial extradition of Gulen to Turkey. A reader posted a very interesting comment which is worth being discussed. But first, a bit of ‘ancient History’… Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading

MOSSAD turned French spies into double agents

“Recruiting allies as spies would cross a red line. There is a clear line between electronic spying and trying to co-opt allied intelligence agents. This was never done during my era as it was known as something that was completely off-limits.”

A French Intel Report reveals efforts by the Mossad to develop ‘relationships’ with several French spies, “to the point of crossing the line of turning them into double agents.” Two Israeli diplomats were asked to leave France. The MOSSAD section head in Paris has also returned to Israel. Follow us on Twitter:@Intel_Today Continue reading

The Michael Flynn Saga: “The more you know, the less you understand.” [UPDATE]

“It is starting to look like, from my sources and then also from open reporting, that Mike Flynn is the one who may have a deal with the FBI and that’s why we have not heard from him for some time.”

Former CIA John Kiriakou: “Doing Time Like A Spy”

Even if torture works, it cannot be tolerated — not in one case or a thousand or a million. If their efficacy becomes the measure of abhorrent acts, all sorts of unspeakable crimes somehow become acceptable. I may have found myself on the wrong side of government on torture. But I’m on the right side of history. There are things we should not do, even in the name of national security. One of them, I now firmly believe, is torture.”

Former CIA Analyst John Kiriakou

Doing Time Like A Spy is former CIA analyst John Kiriakou’s memoir of his twenty-three months in prison. Using life skills he learned in CIA operational training, he was able to keep himself safe and at the top of the prison social heap. Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading

Former CIA Director James Woolsey: “Flynn discussed sending illegally Gulen back to Turkey.”

“What I saw and heard was sort of the end of the conversation — it’s not entirely clear what transpired because of that — but it looks as if there was at least some strong suggestion by one or more of the Americans present at the meeting that we would be able — the United States would be able — through them, to be able to get hold of Gulen, the rival for Turkey’s political situation.”

Former CIA Director James Woolsey

According to James Woolsey, former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn met with representatives of the Turkish government in September 2016 to discuss ways of sending — illegally — Fethullah Gulen back to Turkey to face charges. Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading

French 2017 Presidential Election — Facebook and Google to tackle ‘fake news’ stories

“For so long, we had resisted having standards about whether something’s newsworthy because we did not consider ourselves a service that was predominantly for the distribution of news. And that was wrong! We have a responsibility here. I think we recognize that. This has been a learning for us.”

Elliot Schrage — Facebook’s vice president of global communications, marketing, and public policy

French President Francois Hollande has accused Russia of trying to interfere in the upcoming Presidential campaign. At the request of several Intelligence Agencies, Facebook and Google are joining forces in France to take a stand against ‘fake news’ propaganda. But some fear that the cure might be worse than the disease. Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading
