Destroying Syria — “Why Does Washington Hate Bashar al-Assad?” by Philip Giraldi

“I am deeply alarmed that yet again, the Trump administration continues to raise the risk of unnecessary war, disconnected from any firm policy objectives and core national security interests. To be clear, neither the 2001 or 2002 AUMFs [Authorizations to Use Military Force] provide authority to target Assad or Iranian proxies in Syria, and it is unacceptable for this action to be taken absent a vote and approval of Congress.”

Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia (January 18 2018)

One Year Ago — The “STARGATE Project”: The CIA Psychic Spies

“Our mission – that is, the mission for INSCOM Center Lane Program’s remote viewing project number 8404 – was to help find Buckley [William Francis Buckley, station chief for the CIA in Beirut Lebanon] before it was too late. The CIA officer was kidnapped on March 16, 1984. Our tasking arrived on March 20th. Over the next few weeks 12 remote viewing sessions were worked. The majority were performed by the two most experienced viewers in the unit at the time, Joe McMoneagle and Tom McNear. By the time Project 8404 was finished, a number of detailed remote viewing results of unknown accuracy were produced. Sadly, all this work was to no avail. Buckley was never rescued, and died in captivity on June 3 1985.”

TOP INTEL TODAY 2017 STORIES #1 — “Former DIA Colonel : US strikes on Syria based on a lie”

“In the coming days the American people will learn that the [US]Intelligence Community knew that Syria did not drop a military chemical weapon on innocent civilians in Idlib.”

Former DIA Colonel Patrick Lang

“This perversion of principles – twisting information to fit a desired conclusion – became the modus vivendi of American politics and journalism. And those of us who insisted on defending the journalistic principles of skepticism and evenhandedness were increasingly shunned by our colleagues, a hostility that first emerged on the Right and among neoconservatives but eventually sucked in the progressive world as well. Everything became “information warfare.”

Robert Parry — Consortium News

Former DIA Colonel Patrick Lang

Patrick Lang — a former DIA Colonel — does not mince words about the US attacks on Syria. Lang claims that Donald Trump’s decision to launch cruise missile strikes on a Syrian Air Force Base was based on a lie.

This post was first published on April 7 2017. The story went viral in a few hours.  Once upon a time, most people had a blind faith in the US Government. But after the Iraqi WMDs fiasco, many have learned better. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Today, most people want to see hard facts and evidence before going to another war on the basis of a flimsy piece of bogus intelligence.

RELATED POST: INTEL TODAY — Top 10 Stories of 2017

In the days following the publication of this post, a MIT professor (Theodore A. Postol), several renown journalists (Robert Parry, Hersh Seymour), many former members of the US IC (Including ex-CIA Ray McGovern), former diplomats and even Colonel Wilkerson (Former Chief of staff of General Colin Powell) went public to denounce the official narrative of the Kahn Shaykhun attack. We should all be thankful to these men for their wisdom and courage.

CIA Director Mike Pompeo Top 10 Lies — #2 : “In its September 1974 issue, Counterspy publicly identified Richard Welch as the CIA Chief of Station in Athens.”

“Today, there are still plenty of Philip Agees in the world, and the harm they inflict on U.S. institutions and personnel is just as serious today as it was back then. They don’t all come from the Intelligence Community, share the same background, or use precisely the same tactics as Agee, but they are certainly his soulmates.”

CIA Director Mike Pompeo

“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.”

William Casey, CIA Director 1981-1987 (Attributed)

In this semi-serious series running the gamut of dramatic emotions, we shall look into obviously incorrect statements made by the current Director of the CIA. Some of these stories will make you laugh, others will make you upset. We hope that all will make you think.

LIE #2 — On April 13 2017, CIA Director Mike Pompeo  delivered his first public speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington.

While mainstream media have mostly reported that Pompeo denounced WikiLeaks as a “hostile intelligence agency”, nobody has yet pointed out that Pompeo clearly distorted historical facts to suit his narrative.

Who Tortured Giulio Regeni to Death? And Why? [UPDATE]

“On 7 January 2016, just a month after the union meeting, Mohamed Abdallah denounced Regeni to the authorities (…) because his questions were not about street vendors … and had other intentions. The Egyptian government placed Regeni under investigation, but decided after a few days that his research was of no interest to National Security.”

The Guardian (October 4 2016)

“What also has become clear is that Giulio had for months attracted the attention of Egypt’s state apparatus, which continued in an increasingly pressing way until 25 January.”

Rome prosecutor Giuseppe Pignatone (January 25 2018)

The death of this young man shocked and outraged Italians. Giulio Regeni was an Italian student who went missing in Cairo after speaking to trade union and opposition activists. His mutilated body was later found on the side of the road. He appeared to have been horribly tortured. Why was he murdered? Why a botched investigation? Was he a spy? For whom?
