On November 18 1991, Terry Waite and Thomas Sutherland were released by the Islamic Jihad organization. The timing of their release was very suspicious and many experts have argued that this was part of a deal with Iran to switch the blame for the Lockerbie bombing from Iranian surrogates to Libya.
