Biography — Boris Hagelin (July 2 1892 — September 7 1983) [Crypto AG] — Part II : Family

“The Story of the Hagelin Cryptos could never have been written if Russia after the revolution had become a democratic republic. The expected defeat of the Bolshevik minority and the return of a moderate government would have caused me to remain an employee of the Nobel Brothers Oil Production Company, and there would have been no CRYPTO-AG.”

Boris Hagelin — The Story of Hagelin Cryptos (1981)

“Om jag berättade vad jag gjort i livet, vilket jag inte kan – skulle du tycka att jag var århundradets spion!”

[“If I could tell you what I did in my life — which I cannot —  you would think that I am the greatest spy of the century.”]

Boris Hagelin — Private discussion with (brother-in-law) Sixten Svensson

Sixten Svensson is a retired Swedish journalist and the brother-in-law of the late Boris Hagelin. Sixten has been my primary source of information on Boris Hagelin and Crypto AG over the last 15 years. His book — The Boris Project — is a magnificent piece of research.

Christine Levinson

“We share our deepest sympathy with his family which has suffered from his absence for over a decade. We will not rest until the Levinson family is whole again. Heather Nauert  — State Department Press Secretary (March 9 2018)

Lockerbie — Diabolical Endgame — Part II : Chronicle of an Injustice Foretold

“The Devil’s cleverest wile is to make men believe that he does not exist.”

Charles Baudelaire — “Le Joueur Généreux” (Le Figaro –1864)

March 25 2020 — When it comes to the Lockerbie Affair, nothing is ever what it seems. The next step was always difficult — sometimes nearly impossible — to predict. After 30 years of an incredible saga, we are now finally entering the endgame. This time, I will take the risk to make a prediction. The final act is going to be a piece of pure evilness.  Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

40 Years Ago — Remembering Archbishop Oscar Romero (August 15, 1917 — Assassinated March 24, 1980)

“Let my blood be a seed of freedom and the sign that hope will soon be reality.”

“Between the powerful and the wealthy, and the poor and vulnerable, who should a pastor side with? I have no doubts. A pastor should stay with his people.”

Archbishop Oscar Romero

“His ministry was distinguished by his particular attention to the most poor and marginalized.”

Pope Francis

“There are clear [evidential] threads on who gave the original order and who paid for the murder that any concerted investigation in El Salvador would absolutely be able to gather enough evidence to prosecute those involved.”

Matt Eisenbrandt — Assassination of a Saint

March 24 2020 — Óscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez was a prelate of the Catholic Church who served as the fourth Archbishop of San Salvador. He spoke out against poverty, social injustice, assassinations, and torture. Romero was assassinated while offering Mass in the chapel of the Hospital of Divine Providence. In the Bible, 40 years is a generational measurement of time. Much has happened to Salvadorians over the last four decades. But Justice for Romero is still waiting. 30 Years Ago — Gerald Bull Is Assassinated in Brussels (March 22, 1990)

“Who murdered the 62-year-old artillery genius? (…) No one has stepped forward to claim responsibility. However, senior Israeli intelligence officials in several recent interviews with us have claimed responsibility for the slaying. (…) The killing was ordered after Mossad, Israel’s secret foreign-intelligence service, gathered information that Bull was working with Iraq in the production and acquisition of mass destruction weapons for Iraq.”

William Scott Malone and David H. Halevy — Washington Post (February 10, 1991)

“The Iraqi don’t have air superiority over Israel. The solution they can have is the supergun. It has such long ranges, it’s going to hit strategic targets like Israel.”

Former Israeli artillery chief Avraham Bar-David

March 22 2020 — Gerald Vincent Bull was a Canadian engineer who developed long-range artillery. He moved from project to project in his quest to economically launch a satellite using a huge artillery piece, to which end he designed the Project Babylon “supergun” for the Iraqi government. Bull was assassinated outside his apartment in Brussels, Belgium on March 22 1990. The case was never solved. Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading

On This Day — Remembering the Brussels Attacks (March 22, 2016) [2020]

“With the usual reservations, it seems to indicate that Oussama Atar is dead and, importantly, that the judicial investigation continues. It is essential to continue to try to shed light on this dark affair.”

Georges Dallemagne — Belgian Federal representative (February 28, 2018)

“If not for the request by different organizations … Oussama Atar would still be in Iraqi prison.”

Jawad Al-Hindawi — Iraqi Ambassador to Belgium

Injured Indian flight attendant became a symbol of the 2016 Brussels attacks

Brussels, March 21 2020 — There is no longer any doubt that Oussama Atar, a Belgian of Moroccan descent, is the mastermind of the Paris and Brussels attacks. Atar is rumored to be dead, but many questions regarding his activities in Belgium remain unexplained. And no one is investigating an affair that can only be described as a “scandale d’ État”. Lockerbie — Diabolical Endgame — Part I : SCCRC & The Grounds of Appeal [UPDATE — Kenny MacAskill : New trial will not provide closure on Lockerbie.]

“The Devil’s cleverest wile is to make men believe that he does not exist.”

Charles Baudelaire — “Le Joueur Généreux” (Le Figaro –1864)

On March 11 2020, the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission [SCCRC] decided to refer the Lockerbie case back to the High Court of Justiciary for determination.  As a result of the Commission’s decision, Mr Megrahi’s family is now entitled to instruct an appeal against his conviction.

To many observers, the SCCRC decision marks the beginning of Justice. I am afraid that I share neither their joy, nor their hopes.  Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

Wikipedia : A Disinformation Operation? [Swiss Propaganda Research]

“Truth is the daughter of time, not of authority.”

Francis Bacon

“This story is demented and broken on so many levels, it is quite difficult to know where to begin, even. Here we have an excellent Wikipedia administrator who has been victimized by lunatic conspiracy theorists, a private person who has absolutely no relation to the wild stories that this article promulgates. Slashdot, you have been trolled.”

Jimmy Wales — Wikipedia co-founder (July 26 2007)

“I cannot confirm that the traffic you cite came from agency computers.”

CIA Spokesperson (August 15 2007)

“A nuclear scientist and reporter Ludwig De Braeckeleer suggested that intelligence agents may have been infiltrated Wikipedia to remove undesirable information from Wikipedia articles The design and application of WikiScanner technology proved such suspicions to be well founded”

Internet Brigades in Wikipedia — Wikipedia

“The strange thing about this story is that this was proven to be true. And there was no denying it. Then later on, a few people started to deny it and claim that it was merely a rumor. Wikipedia has no excuse to hide this.”

Anonymous [Wikipedia user Blissyu2]

March 19 2020 — The Swiss Propaganda Research Group (SPR), founded in 2016, is an independent non-profit research group investigating geopolitical propaganda in Swiss and international media. In their last published work, SPR warns that Wikipedia is anything but an open, transparent and reliable source of information. This story brings back quite a bit of memories.
