“The dimensions, characteristics and appearance of the cylinders, and the surrounding scene of the incidents, were inconsistent with what would have been expected in the case of either cylinder being delivered from an aircraft. In each case the alternative hypothesis [The Douma attack was staged.] produced the only plausible explanation for observations at the scene.”
OPCW Fact Finding Mission in Douma, Syria

April 7 2021 — On this day three years ago, Western media reported a chemical attack in the Syrian city of Douma. From the very beginning, I told you that it was abundantly clear that the “Douma chemical attack” had been staged. Today, we know that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) report was manipulated to support this piece of propaganda. Moreover, BBC Syria producer Riam Dalati later revealed that the hospital scene in video footage taken after the suspected chemical attack was fake. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY

Statement of Concern: The OPCW investigation of alleged chemical weapons use in Douma, Syria (March 11, 2021)
UPDATE (April 7 2021) — Five former officials from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons — including the organization’s founding leader, José Bustani — urge the OPCW to address the controversy surrounding its investigation of an alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma, Syria in April 2018.
The “Statement of Concern” is also signed by Noam Chomsky, Daniel Ellsberg, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, as well two former senior UN officials, Denis Halliday and Hans von Sponeck.
“The issue at hand threatens to severely damage the reputation and credibility of the OPCW and undermine its vital role in the pursuit of international peace and security,” the statement says.
“It is simply not tenable for a scientific organization such as the OPCW to refuse to respond openly to the criticisms and concerns of its own scientists whilst being associated with attempts to discredit and smear those scientists.”
Obviously, this affair also raise questions beyond the alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma, such as the alleged attack at Khan Shaykhun (2017).
The issue at hand threatens to severely damage the reputation and credibility of the OPCW and undermine its vital role in the pursuit of international peace and security.
It is simply not tenable for a scientific organization such as the OPCW to refuse to respond openly to the criticisms and concerns of its own scientists whilst being associated with attempts to discredit and smear those scientists.
Moreover, the on-going controversy regarding the Douma report also raises concerns with respect to the reliability of previous FFM reports, including the investigation of the alleged attack at Khan Shaykhun in 2017.
We believe that the interests of the OPCW are best served by the Director General providing a transparent and neutral forum in which the concerns of all the investigators can be heard as well as ensuring that a fully objective and scientific investigation is completed.
To that end, we call on the Director General of the OPCW to find the courage to address the problems within his organization relating to this investigation and ensure States Parties and the United Nations are informed accordingly.
In this way we hope and believe that the credibility and integrity of the OPCW can be restored.
And let us not forget that some statements made by the Director General of the OPCW regarding the Novichok attack in Salisbury were complete nonsense.
Time will tell if the credibility and integrity of the OPCW can be restored. In the meanwhile, no one should pay attention to whatever reports it produces.
END of UPDATE
“The findings in the final Fact Finding Mission report were contradictory, were a complete turnaround with what the team had understood collectively during and after the Douma deployments.”
Former OPCW Inspector Ian Henderson — Testimony @ UN (Jan. 20, 2020)
The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons sent a team of experts to investigate allegations that a chemical attack took place in the Syrian city of Douma on the 7th of April 2018.
The attack in question was widely attributed to the Syrian Army, based on reports by rebel forces that were present in Douma at the time, and this assertion was backed up by the United States, British and French governments.
Contrary to the conclusion of the official report, the OPCW engineers believe that the alleged “Douma attack” has been staged.
“I can say the following very confidently. Many officials in our Western governments have really no knowledge of the truth! This is what is so scary. Our decision-makers have been deceived either by misinformation or lies provided by their Intelligence Agencies regarding this conflict.”

Intel Today — Interview of Carla Ortiz (May 2018)
From the very beginning, I told you that it was abundantly clear that the “Douma chemical attack” was staged and that the OPCW manipulated their reports to support this propaganda.
In an exclusive interview with Intel Today, documentary maker Carla Ortiz, who was near Douma at the time of these events, told me that no such attack occurred.
Intel Today — What is your conclusion regarding the latest allegation of a chemical attack by the Syrian Army in Douma on April 7 2018?
Carla Ortiz — There is not a single person in all of Douma who believes that this attack ever happened. In fact no one here understands why everyone keeps on asking this question. And why everyone keeps going to the hospital to ask the same thing over and over. They know it is a false story!
This was probably the “poorest set-up” in the last 7 years of the war. They [al-Nusra and other Salafist jihadist organizations fighting against the Syrian government forces] have tried to sell us these lies over and over, and this time it had no credibility whatsoever.

WikiLeaks — OPCW Whistleblower speaks out
On November 24 2019, WikiLeaks published an e-mail, sent by a member of an OPCW fact-finding mission to Syria to his superiors, in which he expresses his gravest concern over intentional bias introduced to a redacted version of the report he co-authored.
The OPCW report states that their conclusion is:
“based on the high levels of various chlorinated organic derivatives detected in environmental samples”.
An internal OPCW email indicates that the chemical weapons watchdog’s leadership doctored the report on the 2018 Douma incident to bring it in line with West-favoured claim that it was an attack by the Syrian government.
In truth, we now know they were only present in parts per billion range, as low as 1-2 ppb, which is essentially trace quantities.
“Please get this document out of DRA [Documents Registry Archive]… And please remove all traces, if any, of its delivery / storage / whatever in DRA.”
OPCW’s chief of cabinet Sébastien Braha
France Role in Rigging the Douma OPCW Report
On 27 December 2019, WikiLeaks released a new batch of internal documents from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW).
An email among them reveals that Inspector Ian Henderson’s report was pulled by order of the OPCW’s chief of cabinet Sébastien Braha.
The French diplomat is an “officer of the Orient” (high ranking official of the French Foreign Affairs Ministry) who was seconded to the OPCW three months after the alleged chemical attack on Douma in order to oversee the organization’s investigation.
In the email, Sébastien Braha demands: “Please get this document out of DRA [Documents Registry Archive]… And please remove all traces, if any, of its delivery / storage / whatever in DRA”.
Ian Henderson had established that the two cylinders which were found at the site of the alleged attack in Douma (Syria) were more likely to have been placed manually than dropped from an airplane or a helicopter.
The redacted report had been used to justify a joint night bombing offensive against Syria by the United States, the United Kingdom and France, on 13/14 April 2018. [Voltaire Net]
“After almost six month investigation, I can prove without a doubt that the Douma Hospital scene was staged. No fatalities occured at the hospital.”
Riam Dalati — BBC Syria producer
BBC producer : “Footage of 2018 Douma chemical attack was staged”
Riam Dalati is a well-known BBC Syria producer who has long reported from the region. In February 2019, Dalati shocked his 20,000 twitter followers with the following message:
Former OPCW Inspector Ian Henderson — Testimony @ UN Jan. 20, 2020
A former inspector with the OPCW has accused the chemical weapons watchdog of issuing a sanitized report on the alleged 2018 attack in Douma, Syria, arguing it ignored serious reservations of its own fact-finding team.
The OPCW’s final report on the Douma incident, released last March, omitted key findings of its own inspection team which would have cast serious doubt on whether a chemical attack took place at all, a now former OPCW specialist, Ian Henderson, told members of the United Nations Security Council in a recorded video address – after his visa application to attend the meeting in person was rejected.
“The findings in the final [Fact Finding Mission] report were contradictory, were a complete turnaround with what the team had understood collectively during and after the Douma deployments,” Henderson said.
