Lockerbie Third Appeal — Judges uphold guilty verdict

“The Court of Criminal Appeal in Scotland has upheld the verdict of the trial court and rejected both grounds of appeal and therefore the appeal against conviction is refused.”

Aamer Anwar — The lawyer for the Megrahi family

January 15 2021 — Today, Lord Carloway — The Lord Justice General in the appeal — delivered the opinion of the Scottish Appeal Court. The decision is available online. QUICK NOTES — To make it easier for the readers to retrieve various chapters of my book, I have created a special page  “Lockerbie” where all the links to the chapters will be listed with a brief description. Lockerbie — Three Decades of Lies: J’Accuse…!

On March 11 2020, the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission [SCCRC] decided to refer the Lockerbie case back to the High Court of Justiciary for determination.

As a result of the Commission’s decision, Mr. Megrahi’s family was therefore entitled to instruct an appeal against his conviction.

The first procedural hearing took place on August 21 2020. The Appeal started on November 24 2020 and ended 3 days later.

The Court of Criminal Appeal in Scotland rejected both grounds of appeal and therefore the appeal against conviction is refused.

As soon as the grounds of appeal were available, Intel Today predicted correctly this outcome.

I will provide an analysis of the verdict as soon as possible. Stay tuned!

PS — On March 16 2020, I wrote [Lockerbie — Diabolical Endgame] :

“Oliver Cromwell died in 1658. His body was exhumed in 1661 to be hanged in chains. Later, he was decapitated and his head was displayed on a pole outside Westminster Hall until 1685. There is a pole waiting for Megrahi’s head.”

I was entirely correct and it should have been obvious to all.

“Amer Anwar — the lawyer for Megrahi’s family — is repeating all the old mistakes that brought us this spectacular miscarriage of justice, including a grandiose press release, that is riddled with nonsensical, erroneous, illogical, and counter-productive statements. I expect that the judges will unanimously uphold the guilty verdict. In the end, this appeal will do more harm than good.”

Ludwig Unfortunately you have been proved correct once again

This saddens me but does not surprise me.

I remember saying on camera a few years ago that when I first joined the Megrahi Appeal Team in Glasgow I decided that to mount a successful appeal investigation we should avoid the politics of the case and mount an attack on the evidence which convicted him

I am fully confident that the crucial evidence in the case against Megrahi was fabricated And what’s more I can prove it.

What saddens me further is that myself and others recovered crucial official documents from the Swiss Government which we then passed on to The Sandwood Police Operation Team however they appear to have ignored that material

I am also confident that in 1990 based on Scientific examinations carried out by leading scientific organisations throughout Europe on behalf of the Scottish police they learned that the copper foil used in the manufacture of the detonation timer PT35b being a fragment Of such a timer – was not of a type available when the timer was supposed to have been manufactured by MEBO and in all probability was not yet available when Pan Am 103 fell from the Sky

I also believe PT/35b (and everything pointing to the Toshiba radio, for example AG/145) was fabricated. However, everybody seems to be interested in writing books, not in sharing crucial information. Where are the documents from the Swiss Government you talk about? Where is the Sandwood report?
