Mr. Koudelka was presented with the George Tenet award, which recognises international cooperation, at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia in early March 2019.

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš also attended the ceremony, which took place on the eve of a visit he made to the White House.

Mr. Koudelka described the prize as the highest bestowed by the CIA.

Czech President Milos Zeman has twice refused to promote the head of the Security Information Service (known in Czech by the acronym BIS) to the rank of general and has been critical — not entirely without reason — of the agency’s work.

Why on Earth?

Some readers may wonder what exactly Mr. Koudelka has possibly done to be worthy of such great honor?

Well, we simply do not know as the ceremony was held in secret and not one picture has been leaked to the media so far.

Surprisingly, not even the Czech ambassador in the U.S. was invited. How rude!

But let me remind you that Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, has played an important role in many great CIA operations.

“Prague connection” — The Czech counterintelligence service claimed that September 11 hijacker Mohamed Atta met with Ahmad Samir al-Ani, the consul at the Iraqi Embassy in a café in Prague.

This alleged connection is notable because it was a key claim used by the Bush administration to justify the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

Of course, we know today that Atta has never visited Prague in his entire life.

Russiagate — The Steele Dossier claimed that Trump Organization lawyer Michael Cohen travelled to Prague in August 2016 to meet secretly with representatives of Russian Intelligence.

“The agenda comprised questions on how deniable cash payments were to be made to hackers who had worked in Europe under Kremlin direction against the CLINTON campaign and various contingencies for covering up these operations and Moscow’s secret liaison with the TRUMP team more generally.”

The Czech counterintelligence service confirmed this central allegation of the dossier and provided cell phone evidence to the CIA that Michael Cohen visited Prague.

Of course, we know today that Michael Cohen has never visited Prague in his entire life.

The Skripal Affair — The Czech counter-intelligence service claims that the suspected perpetrators of the Novichok attack on Russian double agent Sergei Skripal visited the Czech Republic in October 2014, at the time when Skripal himself was in the country.

Skripal was visiting Prague to help the Czech counter-intelligence service uncover Russian spies.

Well, we do not yet know that this information is false. Be patient.

PS:  According to some Gossip Intelligence, the ceremony was merely an excuse for Haspel to meet face  to face with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Michal Koudelka in order to discuss some embarrassing aspects of the Huawei Dossier. Again this is just gossip…
