February 22 2017 — The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, better known as DARPA, is embarking on a new program, called RadioBio, to determine whether cells are able to exchange information with EM signals and, if so, what the cells are saying and how they do it. UPDATE (February 22 2019) — This post was published on February 22 2017. At first, few people were interested. So, why did this post become so popular later on?
Last year, in an update of this post, I wrote:
“My guess is that some folks suspect that the “Havana syndrome” was indeed a microwave attack.
Next, the NSA seems to admit that some of their employees may have been the victims of such microwave attacks in the past.”
I was not wrong…
As soon as the US media reported the mysterious illness affecting the US diplomats, I suggested than a microwave weapon — and not sonic attacks — may be the cause of the “Havana syndrome”.
To the best of my knowledge, I may have been the first person to suggest that the noise “heard” by the victims could have been in fact an illusion caused by the exposure of the acoustic nerve to microwave — GSM like — radiations.
On October 2 2017, I wrote:
“Quick Analysis — If the facts are confirmed and if the effects are indeed caused by a physical device, I find the microwave explanation far more likely than a sonic attack; for many reasons.
If this is indeed the case, I expect to hear nothing further in the future because the truth would sent a wave of panic in the Telecom sector.”
On August 29 2018, Beatrice Golomb — MD, PhD, professor of medicine at University of California San Diego School of Medicine — concluded that reported symptoms and experiences of a “mystery illness” afflicting American and Canadian diplomats in Cuba and China strongly match known effects of pulsed microwave electromagnetic radiation.
On September 1 2018, the NYT published a long article titled: “Microwave Weapons Are Prime Suspect in Ills of U.S. Embassy Workers.”
And by the way… Sharon Weinberger — quoted at the top of this post — obtained some documents about Air Force patents on microwave auditory effect. However, a subsequent FOIA she filed on code-words Hello, Goodbye, and Goodnight was denied.
What are these projects?
“Development of the system began in the 1990s with the Air Force’s efforts to explore the biological effects of microwaves.
A project code-named Hello studied how to modulate the clicking or buzzing sounds produced by microwave heating in the inner ear, to produce psychologically devastating ‘voices in the head’.
‘Goodbye’ explored the use of microwaves for crowd control. And ‘Good Night’ looked at whether they could be used to kill people.”
For the record — The expression “Havana Syndrome” was coined by Dr. Ludwig De Braeckeleer and appeared for the first time in a story published by the Intel Today blog on October 3 2017. [Here is the tweet] Why would Wikipedia dispute such a simple fact?

New Research Program in the US — The Pentagon wants to know more about how your body cells use electromagnetic radiations to talk to each other. A new research program will explore:
“Whether electromagnetic waves are purposefully transmitted and received within or between cells and, if so, to leverage those insights not just for biosystems but also for communicating in cluttered electromagnetic environments.”

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense responsible for the development of emerging technologies for use by the military.
DARPA was created in February 1958 as the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Its purpose was to formulate and execute research and development projects to expand the frontiers of technology and science, with the aim to reach beyond immediate military requirements.
DARPA was created in response to the Soviet launching of Sputnik 1 in 1957, and its mission is to ensure U.S. military technology would be more advanced than that of the nation’s potential enemies. [WIKIPEDIA]

The PANDORA Project
Many of these ideas about cell-to-cell signaling are not new. Twenty-five years ago, Ross Adey described how cells “can whisper together across the barrier of cell membranes.” Such messages, he believed, could control complex biological processes.
Further, Adey maintained that external EM radiation could also activate, overwhelm or muddle such processes. These are more commonly known as non-thermal effects.
Back in the 1960’s, Adey worked on a top-secret DARPA project, called Pandora, to investigate the effects of low levels of microwave radiation.
The project was initiated after the U.S. government discovered that the Soviets were beaming microwaves at its embassy in Moscow. [Microwave News]
In her new book, Weinberger calls Project Pandora, “One of the more bizarre episodes in the history of Cold War science.”
PS: A warning from Putin
In early 2012, Putin observed that the current balance of power, held in place by nuclear arsenals, could well shift in the future due to new technologies. It was in that context that he brought up the ‘psychotronic’ angle:
“The military capability of a country in space or information countermeasures, especially in cyberspace, will play a great, if not decisive, role in determining the nature of an armed conflict.
In the more distant future, weapons systems based on new principles (beam, geophysical, wave, genetic, psychophysical and other technology) will be developed.
All this will, in addition to nuclear weapons, provide entirely new instruments for achieving political and strategic goals. Such high-tech weapons systems will be comparable in effect to nuclear weapons but will be more ‘acceptable’ in terms of political and military ideology.
In this sense, the strategic balance of nuclear forces will play a gradually diminishing role in deterring aggression and chaos.”
