The cyber operation by the GRU — Russia military intelligence — targeted the Organisation for the Prevention of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague.

The OPCW has been probing the chemical attack on a Russian ex-spy in Salisbury (UK) as well as the alleged chemical attacks in Syria.

MIVD has published details about the four GRU operatives who arrived at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on April 10 2018. (Lavrov’s quote was issued the next day.)

All men had travelled on diplomatic passports. They were caught observing the OPCW headquarters.

Their names are: Alexei Moronets, Evgeni Serebriakov, Oleg Sotnikov and  Alexei Minin.

A laptop seized from the suspects had been used in Brazil, Switzerland and Malaysia.

Here’s a picture of the WiFi hacking tool-set the GRU used to hack the OPCW.
