The CIA has traditionally been divided into four Directorates. A fifth Directorate was recently added. (October 2015?)
Directorate of Operations (DO)
Directorate of Science and Technology (DS&T)
Directorate of Intelligence (DI)
Directorate of Support (DS)
Directorate of Digital Innovation (DDI)
The first two directorates collect intelligence. The third analyzes the intelligence and writes finished papers about it. The fourth team provides support to ensure the whole process operates smoothly.
Before May 6 2015, Directorate of Operations (DO) was known as the National Clandestine Service (NCS).
