CIA Director Nominee Gina Haspel — Senators ask Agency Boss To Disclose More Information

“In the absence of any meaningful declassification of her career, this public campaign on behalf of Ms. Haspel does a great disservice to the American people, who expect and deserve to understand the backgrounds of their government’s leaders. Indeed, the more we review the classified facts, the more disturbed we are, both by the actions she has taken during her career and by the CIA’s failure to allow the public the opportunity to consider them. Under these circumstances, it is impossible for the Senate to properly fulfill its constitutional obligation to ‘advise and consent’ on her nomination.”

U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein, Martin Heinrich and Ron Wyden

Apr 16 2018 Washington —  U.S. Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) are asking for the fifth time that CIA Director Mike Pompeo declassify information related to the background of CIA Deputy Director Gina Haspel, whom the president has indicated he will nominate as director of the CIA. The four previous requests have gone unfulfilled so far. Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading →

French Intelligence Report on the Chemical attack of 7 April 2018 (Douma, Eastern Ghouta, Syria)

“On the basis of this overall assessment and on the intelligence collected by our services, and in the absence to date of chemical samples analysed by our own laboratories, France therefore considers (i) that, beyond possible doubt, a chemical attack was carried out against civilians at Douma on 7 April 2018; and (ii) that there is no plausible scenario other than that of an attack by Syrian armed forces as part of a wider offensive in the Eastern Ghouta enclave.”

French Intelligence Report — April 14 2018

“Our military specialists have visited this place, along with representatives of the Syrian Red Crescent… and they did not find any trace of chlorine or any other chemical substance used against civilians.”

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov

April 14, 2018 — This document is based on technical analyses of open source information

Academic Freedom? — ‘Syria Working Group’ Attacked By The Times

“One day on and feeling amazed. A brand new working group, with just one research note to its credit (which makes no mention of the word Assad) hits the front page of The Times. What on earth could explain this extraordinary impact?”

Professor Tim Hayward — Edinburgh (April 15 2018)

“The front page of The Times was a hatchet job on me and other colleagues who are against intervention.”

Dr Tara McCormack — International relations lecturer at Leicester University

“A small number of people working in UK academia have been willing to question & critically examine the prevailing narrative on Syria. This is how the disgusting rag The Times has reported it, a full on McCarthyite witch hunt at the exact moment that the UK is illegally bombing.”

Louis Allday — PhD candidate at SOAS and History/Arabic specialist

“We recognise and uphold the fundamental importance of freedom of expression, and seek to foster a culture that enables it to take place within a framework of mutual respect.”

University of Edinburgh spokesperson

Professor Tim Hayward — Edinburgh

Members of the working group have so far published just one item, a research note on the poisoning of the Skripals in Salisbury. Although still work in progress, the piece, Update to briefing note “Doubts about Novichoks” has been well-received by academics and serious commentators.

It has been singled out by Cornell University’s Professor of Organic Chemistry, David B Collum, as the most definitive work on the novichok nerve agent scandal. Intel Today posted the piece under the title: ” Did a “Novichok” programme ever exist?”

According to the Times, the group is “spreading pro-Assad disinformation”. Professor Tim Hayward responds to the allegations made against him and his colleagues. Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading →

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov : “Former Russian Spy Sergei Skripal May Have Been Poisoned by BZ Nerve Agent”

“We, as you understand, have abilities to receive confidential information. And as this information concerns questions of life and death, we won’t keep this information secret.”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov

“Only OPCW can comment this [Lavrov] assertion. But we can repeat what we stated 10 days ago: We have no doubt that Porton Down has identified Novichock [sic]. Porton Down – like Spiez – is a designated lab of the OPCW. The standards in verification are so rigid that one can trust the findings.”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov

On Saturday (April 14 2018), Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov revealed that a Swiss lab report — dated March 27 2018 — suggests that Sergei Skripal and his daughter were poisoned with a chemical substance known as BZ (NATO CODE). Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading →

One Year Ago — President Bashar al-Assad : “The Chemical Attack Story Is A Fabrication”

Dr Jeffrey S. Kaye — U.S. Dropped Plague-infected Fleas on North Korea in March 1952

“Song Chang-Won and I thought that these numerous fleas floating on the surface of water must have been dropped by the American plane circling over our village before dawn. We, therefore, immediately informed the chairman of the Village People’s Committee of this incident.”

Pak Yun-Ho — Eyewitness

“The history behind the Korean War, and U.S. military and covert actions concerning China, Japan, and Korea, are a matter of near-total ignorance in the U.S. population. The charges of “brainwashing” of U.S. POWs, in an ongoing effort to hide evidence of U.S. biological warfare experiments and trials, also has become entwined in the propaganda used to explain the U.S. post-9/11 torture and interrogation program, and alibi past crimes by the CIA and Department of Defense for years of illegal mind control programs practiced as part of MKULTRA, MKSEARCH, ARTICHOKE, and other programs.”

Dr Jeffrey S. Kaye

“There is a great deal of misunderstanding between the people of the United States and North Korea. This is largely due to the lack of information the average U.S. citizen has about the suffering endured by Koreans during the Korean War, including war crimes committed by U.S. forces.” This fascinating story was written by retired American psychologist Jeffrey Kaye and initially published by MEDIUM.
