KRYPTOS — Can You Crack The CIA Mysterious Code? [Infographics]

“I really do want Kryptos to remain secret – the plain text, the final section of Kryptos, I would prefer for it to remain secret indefinitely. (…) I would think that every artist would aspire to making an artwork that is not transient. It’s a permanent visual, auditory, conceptual statement. And I did Kryptos with all those things in mind. And one – as an artist, one would prefer to have that piece continue giving rather than have it understood right off the bat and then more or less ignored. And so this has lived way beyond all of my expectations, you know, at 30 years in retaining a secret that it has, and that’s the magic.”

Jim Sanborn (January 30 2020)

March 14 2020 — The folks of The Infographics Show have created a wonderful video about the Kryptos sculpture. This video is quite entertaining and rather accurate. In just 24 hours, it has been viewed by almost 50,000 people and I suspect that it will encourage more people to give it a try. Welcome to the Kryptos Family. Intel Today wishes you Good Luck! On This Day — The Dugway Sheep Incident (March 13 1968) [Porton Down 1953, Skull Valley 1968, Salisbury 2018, Wuhan 2019]

“There had been three open-air nerve agent events on March 13 (1968), one of which was a test involving an F-4 fighter airplane operating two TMU-28B spray tanks, each holding 160 gallons of VX — a persistent nerve agent.”

Al Mauroni  — Who Killed the Dugway Sheep? Why It Matters Fifty Years Later (Modern War Institute – March 13 2018)

BELGIUM : €10bn Missing From Gaddafi Frozen Accounts [UPDATE : Foreign Affairs, Intel Committee & State Security Offices Raided by Police]

“There remains a little less than 5 billion euros on the four accounts opened at Euroclear Bank SA.”

Denis Goeman — Spokesman from Brussels’ prosecutor’s office

“Making the interest and other earnings freely available to the Libyan Investment Authority is in non-compliance with the sanctions regime. Furthermore, considering the instability in the country, the disputes over the authority of the Libyan Investment Authority and the lack of an oversight mechanism, doing so could lead to the misuse and misappropriation of funds.”

UN Report

“Nobody is preoccupied with the question of where the funds have gone and who benefitted from them. What is surprising is that nobody wanted to see what was going on and everyone is shutting their eyes at a political level … This is an extremely serious problem as it could uncover a real state scandal.”

Robert Wtterwulghe — Law professor at UC Louvain University

Brussels, Belgium — After Gaddafi’s death in 2011, the U.N. passed a resolution to freeze his wealth, with the idea that it would be held in trust for the Libyan people until the war-shattered country stabilizes. Four separate accounts opened for the Libyan Investment Authority and Libyan Foreign Investment Company in the Euroclear bank held about 16 billion euros when they became ‘frozen’ under UN sanctions in September 2011. Today, there remains about 5 billion euros on these accounts. So the question is rather simple: Where did the €11 billion vanish to? Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today Continue reading

Lockerbie — SCCRC Refers Case Back to Court

“Thus, I do not see what use there is in those mills of the gods said to grind so late as to render punishment hard to be recognized, and to make wickedness fearless.”

Greek scholar Plutarch of Chaeronea — On the Delay of Divine Vengeance

“More than 31 years after the atrocity the Government’s documents relating to it are still being sequestered in a special category of security in the National Archives where they are not accessible to requests under FOI nor from the media. Why would they do that? Government in secrecy is not democracy, any more than justice delayed is justice. Let us make the clearing up of these cruel mysteries our vision for 2020.”

Dr Jim Swire — Open Letter (The Herald – January 1st 2020)

March 11 2020 — Glasgow (14:00) — The Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission [SCCRC] has decided to refer the Lockerbie case back to the High Court of Justiciary for determination.  As a result of the Commission’s decision, Mr Megrahi’s family is now entitled to instruct an appeal against his conviction  Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

Crypto AG — The Ghost of Danny Casolaro

“An NSA employee allegedly told a journalist about his involvement in manipulating the Crypto AG devices. This NSA man and the journalist died the same year from non-natural cause.”

Minerva Files

“With an incomplete investigation, uncooperative agencies, and numerous outright lies, the journalist’s death remains a mystery.”

Emma Best — Muckrock (March 15 2018)

“The Inslaw story alone is enough to drive a sane man to madness. If they ever make a movie of the Inslaw suit, it could be called Mr. and Mrs. Smith Go to Washington and Meet Franz Kafka.”

Ron Rosenbaum — “The Strange Death of Danny Casolaro” (Vanity Fair, December 1991)

March 10 2020 — The Minerva Files mention at least  five suspicious deaths: Boris Hagelin Jr., CIA/NSA employee Gary C. Durrell, and a German employee of Crypto AG, Werner Graf. But the files do not name an NSA whistleblower and a journalist. Who are they? And why is their identity kept secret to this day?   Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading

TOP INTEL TODAY 2019 STORIES — #1  : Lockerbie — Dr Jim Swire : “Let this be the year when the Scottish criminal justice system gives clarity on Lockerbie.” [UPDATE : SCCRC Decision to be Announced March 11 2020]

“More than 31 years after the atrocity the Government’s documents relating to it are still being sequestered in a special category of security in the National Archives where they are not accessible to requests under FOI [Freedom Of Information] nor from the media. Why would they do that? Government in secrecy is not democracy, any more than justice delayed is justice. Let us make the clearing up of these cruel mysteries our vision for 2020.”

Dr Jim Swire — Open Letter (The Herald – January 1st 2020)

Dr Herbert ‘Jim’ Swire

January 2 2020 — In a recent document (dated December 9 2019) seen by Intel Today, Gerard Sinclair — the Chief Executive of the SCCRC [Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission] — states that he is hopeful that a final decision will be reached before the end of this financial year, which is the end of March 2020. A letter from Dr Jim Swire was published by The Herald yesterday. I fully agree with every word he wrote. In the heart of my heart, I hope that 2020 will be the Year of the Truth! On This Day — Former FBI Robert A. Levinson Vanishes in Iran (March 9 2007)

“My husband served this country tirelessly for decades. He deserves better from all of us and from our government. He deserves our endless pursuit to bring him home, to fight day and night and leave no stone unturned.”

Christine Levinson

“We share our deepest sympathy with his family which has suffered from his absence for over a decade. We will not rest until the Levinson family is whole again. Iran committed to cooperating with the United States to assist us in bringing Robert Levinson home and we call on Iran to fulfill this commitment.”

Heather Nauert  — State Department Press Secretary (March 9 2018)

“The Iranians responded with a startling offer. In return for Tehran’s assistance in recovering Levinson, they wanted Washington to reveal the location of Ali Reza Asgari, an Iranian general who vanished in Turkey in 2007, just one month before Levinson’s disappearance.”

YEGANEH TORBATI and JOEL SCHECTMAN — America’s unending hostage crisis with Iran — Reuters (August 1 2018)

25 Years Ago — Remembering CIA Jacqueline K. Van Landingham (1962 – March 8 1995) [Why was Gary Durrell not honored with a Star?]

“African Americans have long made critical contributions to our Agency’s mission, taking the risks and bearing the sacrifices that intelligence work often demands. We at CIA join our fellow citizens in remembering the immeasurable sacrifice, strength, and courage of African Americans in building a more free and just society. It is a cause they nobly advanced, and one that we all must carry forward to this day.”

CIA Director John Brennan  — February 26 2014 CIA’s Black History Month Celebration

The Memorial Wall is a memorial at the Central Intelligence Agency headquarters in Langley, Virginia. It honors CIA employees who died in the line of service. Today, there are 133 stars carved into the white Alabama marble wall. At least ten represent women.

Crypto AG — What is Wrong with WP Reporter Greg Miller?

“Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle. I will add that the man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them; inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors. He who reads nothing will still learn the great facts, and the details are all false.”

Thomas Jefferson — Letter to John Norvell (1807)

“Misunderstandings and neglect create more confusion in this world than trickery and malice. At any rate, the last two are certainly much less frequent.”

Goethe — The Sorrows of Young Werther (1774)

“Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity, but don’t rule out malice.”

Albert Einstein

March 7 2020 — Greg Miller — Washington Post — forgot to tell his readers that the Minerva Files contain disturbing information about a series of suspicious deaths. One should “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.” However, in his following piece and during an interview with NPR, Greg Miller clearly distorts the facts about Crypto AG in such a way that one can no longer ignore malice. On This Day — Operation Flavius [Death on the Rock] (March 6 1988)

“For the government to claim the right to kill British people, based on highly unreliable secret intelligence and a secret declaration of legality, is so shocking I find it difficult to believe it is happening even as I type the words. Are we so cowed as to accept this?”

Craig Murray — Former UK Embassador

March 6 2020 — On March 6 1988, three unarmed members of the IRA were shot dead on the territory of Gibraltar by British Special Air Service (SAS) troops. The killings of Sean Savage, Daniel McCann, and Mairéad Farrell sparked two weeks of increasingly macabre happenings in the trio’s native Belfast. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY Continue reading
