On This Day (June 4, 1989) — The Tiananmen Massacre [Boeing’s Dilemma and The Lockerbie Shadow]

“To get the Chinese vote, Bush senior agreed to have his infamous meeting in New York with premier Li Ping, the Butcher of Beijing, the official in charge of the Tiananmen Square Massacre.”

Francis Boyle
International Law professor

Despite the horrors of Tiananmen, the George H.W. Bush administration renewed China’s MFN status every year and vetoed bills that attempted to revoke MFN or link it to human rights. Boeing easily convinced the administration to exempt a scheduled $200 million delivery of four B757s to China from military sanctions.

June 4, 2025 — Marco Rubio, the US’s top diplomat, rightly points out that the Chinese government still tries to erase the Tiananmen Square Massacre from its own history. But while Beijing hides the past, the US government isn’t exactly transparent about the backroom deals and geopolitical maneuvering that followed this dark chapter. of the Dreyfus Affair

CIA Website

Alfred Dreyfus (January 9, 1859 — July 12, 1935)

January 5 2023 — On January 5 1895, Dreyfus was summarily convicted in a secret court-martial, publicly stripped of his army rank, and sentenced to life imprisonment on Devil’s Island in French Guiana. Following French military custom of the time, Dreyfus was formally degraded by having the rank insignia, buttons and braid cut from his uniform and his sword broken, all in the courtyard of the École Militaire before silent ranks of soldiers, while a large crowd of onlookers shouted abuse from behind railings. Be yourself. Everybody else is already taken! [Marilyn Monroe & Nelson Mandela]

“She’s not really beautiful. Put her in a potato sack, and no one would look at her twice.”

American columnist
Edith Gwynn

June 1, 2025 — — Marilyn Monroe died of a barbiturate overdose late in the evening of Saturday, August 4, 1962, at her 12305 Fifth Helena Drive home in Los Angeles, California. Her body was discovered before dawn on Sunday, August 5. On the same day, Nelson Mandela was arrested in Durban, South Africa. Almost everyone has heard the conspiracy theory about Monroe being murdered by the CIA. Sadly, almost no one knows that the arrest of Nelson Mandela was made possible by a tip-off from the CIA. Follow us on Twitter: @INTEL_TODAY

Law Is Not Justice: A Dangerous Illusion [Codifying Corruption]

“There is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetuated under the shield of law and in the name of justice.”

Montesquieu

May 27, 2025 — In an editorial (Les deux lignes rouges) published in Belgian Newspaper La Libre, Dorian de Meeûs argues that laws are always, necessarily, and inherently good. But history tells a different story. Laws are not moral truths. They are instruments — tools created by people, reflecting the values and intentions of those who write, pass, and interpret them. Truth and Consequence : CBS 60 Minutes, Gary Webb, and the Cost of Telling the Truth

“Truth is the daughter of Time, not Authority.

If life is worth living, Truth must be one of its raisons d’être. Collect the facts carefully and analyse them logically. Let your work be known. Engage with others, whether or not they agree with your findings.

And, most importantly, expect nothing in return. Truth is its own reward.”

Intel Today Diary

May 22, 2025 — The world may feel like it’s spiraling into madness, but every now and then, a glimmer of hope reminds us why truth still matters. In times like these, the pursuit of knowledge and honest journalism offers a lifeline. From Lockerbie to Havana Syndrome, one thing remains clear: those who know the truth often have the greatest interest in keeping it hidden. Journalists may be silenced — but truth never dies. One way or another, it always finds its way out. Follow us on Twitter: @Intel_Today
